If that is true, I am kicking myself for not waiting... My gasser sat in pre-release for a month and d1 for another 3 weeks, then it got build and I had it in hand less than two weeks later.

Wonder if they are cranking them out to give some allowance for an more extensive QA ... otherwise you might have it before the end of the month. That's incredible!

Re: 2014 diesel production

So either:

No vehicles have gone into D1 today

or

The MOTS hasn't been updated yet.

I'm hoping its the latter. It's a new day, and Friday at that!

Last MOTS update was at 2 am. I am guessing that it will be updated later in the day.

Well yea... Per the time stamp at the top of the mots page that Milous controls it says it last updated at 2am.

VOTS on the other hand says I moved to D1 today...

Re: 2014 diesel production

From this point forward, I'm sure MOTS will give way more information about the status. I think the next VOTS update will be final inspection. MOTS will give way more info on the build.

Re: 2014 diesel production

The link in my VOTs emails show "frame, paint" etc... It shows a decent amount of detail it seems.

I bet where MOTS will shine is the refresh rate and the post build shipping tracking.

The update frequency on VOTS is no where near fast enough to catch more than one of the being build statuses. My VOTS went Scheduled to Final inspection in one day, and was about a half day behind MOTS. If yours says Paint, Frame, etc., chances are your truck is already built by the time you read it.

Re: 2014 diesel production

For those of you waiting for your Diesels or pondering whether to get one, here is an article that I think you would enjoy.

This is an interview with Raffaele De Vivo, the president of VM Motori which manufacturers the diesel engine in the GC. The article is only about 3 weeks old now and is pretty informative.

Just a quick note on VOTS vs MOTS. The advantage of having both will give you all of the detail, but once your vehicle is built, MOTS will save your sanity

I hadn't seen that, pretty cool. This means the engines for our CRD's have been built and should be almost to Detroit.
