Had an uneventful flight to Houston, called Brainstormer, and he was unfortunately slightly delayed - poor guy got a flat tire in the new Jeep. He and his son got some first hand experienced at changing a tire in his new Jeep. He picked us up, and gave us a mini tour of Houston - saw the Astro Dome, and new new stadium (that astrodome is tiny comparatively). Dropped us of at our hotel, and we chatted for a while. Was great seeing him, and met his son - both are really great guys. Would have loved to spend more time, but as you can see, it is late, and my wife wanted to go to bed. She is telling me to turn off the light, and go to bed, as we pick up the new Jeep in 8 hours. Yea, like I can actually sleep tonight...NOT
Will give an in-depth review over the next few nights during the road trip back home.
Shannon,
It was great to see you again meet the wife. Best of luck withe delivery in the morning, and safe travels on the way home. I know you will enjoy the new ride.
This morning I took the 20 minute drive over the rail terminal for an SFU sighting. I found the carrier who handles Jeeps, gave him my VIN and he said it hadn't been unloaded yet from the rail car. Since it has been there a couple days he said it would "probably" be unloaded today, and if so, "probably" will go the dealer tomorrow. I was within a few hundred yards of my SFU but didn't see it. AAARRRRGGGHHHH. The wait is killing me. I'll call them tomorrow and he can easily check the VIN again for an update. BTW, he said they had seen 2 or 3 Ecodiesels come through already, so I guess neither Shannon or me will be the first one in MN.
I hear you...In the same boat but different city...Council Bluffs...4.5 hours to South Dakota and home. The weather here is more than perfect for November...I should be driving Lady Auburn...Oh well!
I wrote customer service again...Not sure why! Not sure they care or want to hear from us!
Just got THE CALL from my dealer. Picking it up tomorrow.
Also, my dealer (Manhattan, NYC) has three more summit diesels on the way that are not customer orders in case somebody is interested in picking one up quickly.
Do u know in what colors ? I'm kind a stuck with same as urs, but Marooco Black interior and my wife said that she likes Jeep Brown like urs a lot better now
My first post but I have been following for several months. I picked up my 2014 Diesel on Saturday, November 9th, ordered on August 12th. Limited, Cherry Red, tow package and Nav. I traded a 2011 Jeep GC Laredo.
Some initial impressions after the first 300 miles..
Fit and finish are excellent, none of the alignment issues
NO EcoDiesel badge, nothing to identify as a diesel
Driven 360 miles and still have half a tank left
Great acceleration, much better that the v6
Nav is a great improvement along with the VR system
Michelin Latitude tour tires are NOT on/off road
After driving at highway speed and then in traffic a smell of what is best described as cat urine
Overall it is a much better vehicle that the 2011 v6 I traded, and I thoroughly enjoyed that car.

I work for a jeep dealership in the northeast usa, we will have our first diesel overland on the ground right after thanksgiving. The ship date is 11/18 and we add about ten days for transport so either right before or right after the holiday
Mtnmerlin, no. Unloaded 11/10. Estimated delivery 11/13. I have spoken with the dealer and they've seen nothing, they've heard nothing, they know nothing. I had hoped it would have made it to the dealer by now.
You aren't the only one. We ordered ours in the middle of September and production started on Oct 1st. It's still in final inspection. Three local dealers have diesels on their web sites listed as in transit so I hope mine gets on a train soon.
Looks like I will be picking mine up this afternoon. Thanks for all the little tidbits for inspection and I will have some pics later and a small review in day or two.
Dealer just called. Will be picking up in a few hours. Hard to say but could be the first one in San Diego. Certainly their first one. You all know the feeling. This has been a tremendous experience being part of the forum. Look forward to many interactions in the months and years to come.
Well I wrote customer service this AM and here is part of their response:
"At this time,
Network Management is working on expediting the shipment of your vehicle
to your dealership and the estimated time of arrival indicated within
our resources is 11/14/2013. Please keep in mind that this provided
timing is an estimate only and not a promise or a guarantee".
I think we have heard this before...Only time will tell...Still waiting as are many others! I still have hope that it will be this week!
Hey guys sorry for the stupid question just picked up my unicorn today is there a setting on the instrument cluster where you can read the DEF Fuel Level. I only drove for like an hour today and didn't fully play around, but did try to find that and couldn't. I didn't have a chance to change the meters that are shown standard wondering if it has something to do with that.
Wow...I was sitting here looking at MOTS a little upset that I was going to be in the yard another day when the dealer called and said it's sitting on the lot right now. They're going to do PDI tonight and I should be able to pick it up tomorrow. Not sure if I'm happy or still unsure that it's really there.
Well, according to the latest MOTS release my SFU is within 180 miles of the final rail yard ( I think).
If it does not get held up, it could be at the dealer by tomorrow night, but......, reading about all the luck that some guys have don't have, getting it the last few miles maybe painful and very time consuming.
I sure would not mind a Saturday or Sunday delivery; have several business trips planned for next week, 300-500 miles, and a 2400 mile vacation trip over thanksgiving.
Finally after 11 months, finally picked up my Jeep. Will post reviews on the Review thread. But, after spending the evening drinking on Bourbon street, all I can say tonight is Holy Sh*t, this this is awesome - exceeds expectations.
That's great news Shannon. Mine was unloaded at the rail terminal yesterday afternoon, will call them this morning for expected delivery to dealer. Still a chance I might get it this weekend if the dealer gets it today and if they get right on the prep work. Lots of ifs. I think we should have a home coming party. I'll bring the noise makers and streamers. Your place or mine?
I have nothing to complain about...I see we September builds still have some sitting in Detroit...My 4.5 hour drive from the railcar to dealer is nothing compared to what others are experiencing. Good luck to all who wait.
MOTS pushed me back 3 days for estimated delivery. This morning I am on the truck to the dealer. Getting happier each day. My dealer is useless as well. My salesman quit and I fear that all our agreements went with him. We shall see.
My dealer called and said their tracking showed delivered...but it is nowhere to be found. Next the dealer called the trucking company that usually delivers and they do not have the Jeep. The dealer rechecked their tracking and my jeep 3.0 is no longer listed. Hmmm...MOTS shows it still on a railcar...Confusing but if you can't LOL your too invested...Laughing!
Gary, this isn't your VIN is it? EC300536 There is one listed on Baxter of Omaha exactly like what you ordered but don't know if it's sold or not. If not, might be worth looking into rather then playing this shell game with the dealer and train yard.
I know what they use for MOTS. It's a pretty accurate system based on many factors. But there still is a human factor that says "F it. I am grabbing this one and delivering it." which messes with things.
Conversely, I've seen a few that have been marked as delivered but they still sit at the rail yard. That doesn't go over well with Management or the Dealer.
