Excursion and I basically ordered the same truck, except he is + a CD player, but I'm still in pre-release... So there must be other factors as well.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Maybe this has been answered and I missed it, but has anyone confirmed whether or not the diesel model will have a full size spare? I apologize if it has been answered already, I just have not seen it.

I didn't see an Overland in D1 status, though I'm sure there are several ordered that we're not seeing, but I do see a couple Limited and a Summit. Is it possible they will produce a few early and do the in depth inspection before running the rest of them?

I talked to this chick but she was clueless...

and consulting the bones told me nothing:

My final hope also petered out...

So at this point I'm just going to sit tight and exert zen like self control while I wait...

It is not a parts problem, D to D1 is not a parts issue.

Other then the engines almost everything is "just in time" supply and the engines are sitting there.

If there is a parts shortage, there would be a constraint issued for affected models.

I didn't even want the CD player. My dealer misunderstood me and ordered it...It went D1 so fast I didn't get a chance to change it.

Should likely mirror non-diesel versions for a given trim level...

I have looked into this and there is a specific exclusion on the engine code when you pick option codes that would have included it. I will verify.
Way back when, it was confirmed (at the time anyway) that the urea tank is located underneath the spare area and protected by a skid plate.

Looking on mine, with quadra lift and tow, there is enough space under there to fit an entire aux gas tank. Unlike the competition, I can't fathom any reason why they would need to encroach on spare tire space for the CRD emissions parts.

Here, found the reference: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Re: 2014 diesel production

I was under the impression that the full size spare was part of the trailer tow option regardless of engine.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Ahh, gotcha... Full size is in both packages and tow is actually discounted if OA1 is also ordered. Had not noticed that. Very odd indeed.
