If I had bought the summit I would have added the skid plates after market. I am replacing the rims and tires anyway with 18' ATX so that wouldn't have made a difference. I just felt the extra stuff I was getting with the SUmmit didn't justify the price difference.

My tow hooks are being replaced with the base plates for the BlueOx tow bar, so that was not a concern.

Because of your comment I will try to see if my Wheel / tire combo fits.

Forgot to post the response on my phone on this. The guy at Chrysler told me one moves to D1 when all the parts are there. This could have been wrong, but, that's what he said. Regardless, I don't consider it a problem anyway. I know I can sit in prerelease for 30 days.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Yeah, I just saw that. Congratz Chiv! I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
There are a lot of limiteds on here that do not have a D1 date, so not sure what pushes them through at this point.

Personally, I like to think he's the guy from the Dos Equis commercials.

Haha, that's great. That is definitely the image I will always associate with Milous now

I can second this.... I would say that is a pretty good rendition of Milous, but he drives a nicer vehicle!

Re: 2014 diesel production

No break in period? Crazy!!!

Quote:
The diesel engine does not require a break-in period due
to its construction. Normal operation is allowed, providing
the following recommendations are followed:
• Warm up the engine before placing it under load.
• Do not operate the engine at idle for prolonged periods.
• Use the appropriate transmission gear to prevent
engine lugging.
• Observe vehicle oil pressure and temperature indicators.
• Check the coolant and oil levels frequently.
• Vary throttle position at highway speeds when carrying
or towing significant weight.
Does it mean that these procedures are to be followed during what would be the normal the break in period, or even after?

Obviously some of them are good advice at all times, like waiting for the engine to warm up before putting it under load, but what about the last point? It would seem that while towing you need to constantly vary the throttle. That seems like it would get annoying when towing down a long straight level stretch of highway.
