D is related to pre-release.... that timing to D1 varies greatly. I have seen vehicles sit at D for over 30 days and I have seen them flip very quickly.

So far CRDs seem to be going D1 in less than a week on average and that is extremely fast.

Also something to keep in mind, VOTS may consider/show "Pre-release" as "production scheduled", just like D1.

A week in painting. A coat every 2 hours. By now my Jeep should have 84 coats. Also will weight about about a hundred pounds more.

I'm a little late to the party but just got my VON tonight! Havent posted on the forum yet but have been following this thread pretty religiously and wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the info. Hope to see the CRD soon.

Fortunately you have 420 lb/ft of torque to carry that extra 100 pounds of paint.

Hopefully I can contribute on the technical side. I support V8 and V6 diesel engines for a pretty big medium and heavy duty truck/engine manufacturer. Any one know where we could find the service manual to the CRD?

None of the Overland CRDs have gone to D1 on MOTS, last time I checked, and I check often. I think the Limited CRDs were at D1 before the orders were placed.

Thank you, yes, VOTS is rather vague. I assume most people don't care or need to see a status code. That is, it is probably vague for a reason. Also, once a week I call the number to ask my status if there hasn't been an update.
