It's not that.. I just need people to understand that I have other obligations than marking up cars. If I obliged everyone who asked, there would be quite a few Jeeps going down the line with no floors to mount the seats to!

Still.... I am proving the fact here, I am in board rooms in meetings glancing at my phone to see what the boys a JNAP have to say.... I am a living breathing example of it!

Jeep builds are a cult and an obsession, just thank god you have high barb wire fences around the perimeter. I picture zombies waddling across the field except in stead of "brains" they mumble Jeeeeps.... Jeepppss.... Jeeeppss

I laugh sometimes but you know what, the bumper sticker says it all "it's a Jeep Thing"

On a more serious note, I have toured a few vehicle factories over the years (not JNAP). Anyone who does not respect you for the work you need to do is simply ignorant of fact. As much as they have improved the process the last number of years it is still repetitive in many cases and mentally exhausting. (I think back to your post about hours and schedule a number of months back, I get it).

Many thanks from myself and from other grateful members because you certainly are not forced to be here and keep us in the loop, that is all on you buddy.

Edit: I want to make sure I mention that these thanks go out equally to Marlon as well! you guys are both amazing. Not too many people left who have a passion for what the do to take it to this level!... waiting on the next pilot build!

I'm a zombie every Monday and Friday.

Where's my caffeine?

There won't be any exciting pilot builds until.... 2015/2016.

As far as I'm concerned, it's only right considering the progression of modern civilization.. Ppl like to be engaged. And this is a great platform for ppl to be engaged. So why a manufacturer wouldn't support having an 'inside man' on each of the MAJOR web forums associated with their brands is beyond me..

A stupid Facebook page is unacceptable. Especially when the most in depth Jeep talk happens here. Not on Facebook. And the intern they have working the Facebook page doesn't know crap about Jeeps anyway!

If I was calling the shots, I would try having a small social networking/web forum's team inside each of the Assembly plants that can basically do what Scott, Milous, Marlon, and I do, but actually get paid for it. Cause as far as I know, none of us do. Just as a trial thing maybe at first.. Talk to the ppl. Relay issues back to the company, FASTER! Conduct online surveys for future product development, etc.. I'm sure it'd produce a positive result.

I don't wanna be too proud, but I like to think I've already helped make and save a few sales in my short time here, and I don't know crap about selling cars. I just know ppl respect honesty and by keeping it real and engaging the customer, some who joined here just to browse decided to go and buy! Effective communication goes a long way.. And I'm sure most of you guys who go in a dealer after hanging out here for a while, have your mind made up before you even walk in the door..

Re: 2014 diesel production

There's a problem with that. They wouldn't sell any vehicles because they would be targeted towards the enthusiast instead of buyers. Remember, most people view a vehicle as an appliance, not as a toy like we all do.

The other issue is as soon as there is money, it changes it. You guys do it because you WANT to... if there were money involved the zombies would come.

I love the idea of more communication upstream but it is so hard to do it right. Even if you have all the right channels set up, they won't use the information properly.

Either way, both you guys have your head in the right place and that is more and more rare these days!

Yes, yes! I got interested in the CRD while searching for ANY domestic diesel offering designed for economy. I lurked here for a few months then joined. The presence of JNAP folks interacting with advice from Jeep owners sealed the deal for me!

AWESOME!

The Altitude, SRT, Renegade, Trailhawk, etc are all targeted toward the enthusiast.. They can still build the volume the way they want, and make money. But when you venture into the land of the enthusiast, it's good to know what they want.

The cult of enthusiast can create greater demand among the masses. Its a powerful secret ingredient in most successful products. Word of mouth (or internet forum) can build momentum.
