Re: 2014 diesel production

I am going to make a prediction based on a theoretical algorithm: I predict that the next slated production date of the diesel is June 26th (2013 to clarify).

I double checked my work and I'm almost positive I am correct.

Does anyone on the inside want to check my work and let me know if I'm right or wrong?

Maybe. It all depends what department he oversees. He/She could be senior VP of clean restrooms. If they are in production, they most likely are in the know. But titles in big business don't always equate to having a clue. Just sayin'

More importantly, do you have a relationship with this person because the fact is that there is the information that that has been publically approved and then there is what is really happening at the production round table.

If Mr. Sr, VP was a buddy of yours he may have said August Alotment with Sept. Deliveries is what we are telling the public but there may be a release of information in June that bumps up production to late June/July with August deliveries.... See you for a beer tomorrow

I work with manufacturers, there is always two stores... What we tell the end consumers and what is really happening in scheduling. If Scott, Chevy Marlon or Milous say that it is happening sooner, frankly they may know more than the CEO (Literally) because those guys are right in the middle of it. They are all connected to the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in different ways and that is where it will be built.

I mean hey, Marlon has personally given his blessing to many of the vehicles that Members here now drive (Even autographed Bill's)

I am assuming he was not talking about a Ram EcoDiesel which is slated to begin production in September...

Re: 2014 diesel production

Does anyone know what the production capacity is for the diesel ? How close are they operating.

Could be something like a fire at the urea tankk supplier or as simple as production capacities. Where is Lamont Cranston ?

Publish spec from CDJ was 1%.... 1 per 100 units will be EcoDiesel. Marlon can likely speak better to scalability though?

Re: 2014 diesel production

Nice number there... I can't find the exact numbers...but May 2013 Chrysler reported sales of over 100K vehicles... wonder how many JGCs per month?

Re: 2014 diesel production

So they are expecting to sell about 1200 diesels this year ? Or will that be 1% after September ? Now that we are this late it would make sense to make available with the normal 2014 intros.

Since I'm more interested in a tow car/people mover than chrome, I'll wait until it is available in the Laredo. Suspect that will be when all of the "my other car is a Prius" crowd get theirs.

Might targer certain areas of the country first also.

Re: 2014 diesel production

No one is quite sure what the % will be. Someone threw out a 1% which made no sense unless that was just orders to dealers without customers (someone said a while back all diesels will be customer orders to start with). An article I posted earlier in thread said something about 60,000 engines shipped and Chrysler wouldn't say a number but they thought they had a good business case. Article speculated 15-20% of production.
