Change in Quality? I hope you mean the quality has improved, not declined?? Don't make me nervous....

Short version:

What gets to the customer isn't much different than what you all have seen since the initial relaunch in 2010. By that I mean, quality is still well above that of the original WK, but not where it could be, AND would be had things not been changed unnecessarily last fall. The amount of issues during production have drastically risen since the scheduling change, and latest hiring wave.. So simply put, inspections find more problems, and consequently it takes longer for cars to make it to your driveway.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Hey fellas. I've just received my second email. It says "production scheduled". But doesn't the 2nd email mean D1? Heres to hoping this means more movement into D1 for the diesel crowd!

You're not alone. The phrase people often use to describe this kind of thing in the tech industry is "there's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it over". Right now I often see companies hiring a larger number of cheap IT workers, still having to keep their current "expensive" staff to supervise and redo the work, having to send things back to the cheap guys 2-3 times because they're done wrong, and then shuffling numbers between different lines in the budget sheet to cover up how much it really cost. If you get too vocal about pointing that out they say you're not a team player (or worse).

It would help if they actually CARED to use the in-plant problem reporting system...

Comparing my 07 wk limited to my girlfriend's 11 70th anniversary Laredo wk2 the quality, fit and finish, and materials is night and day significantly better on the wk2. If my 14 is "only" as good as the 11 I'll be thrilled and over the top satisfied.

Well... I mentioned to Marlon yesterday that I was driving something with a $74,000.00 price tag all this week. I am going to do a quality review on it at the end with a 2014 JGC comparison.

Very interesting stuff...

Re: 2014 diesel production

Congrats to everyone moving to D1. Hopefully they move thru paint quicker than mine did. Still waiting for shipment. Going to be cutting it close to my vacation to pick this up. Hope it ships this week.

I did not receive a VOTS e-mail, so I guess I didn't make the cut again...I am hoping we start to see the movement to D1 for more Overlands. Congrats to all that are moving forward!

There are a bunch of Overlands getting scheduled now (not that that is a predictive factor). I would think you will come very soon.
