Re: 2014 diesel production

nauti' perhaps if you need wheels when you have to ditch the Exploder you can just either do a month rental from somewhere (maybe even your dealer) or use the cycle on most days and do a daily rental for those days you absolutely have to have something bigger. Or find a friend that has an extra vehicle you could "borrow" (for a case of some kind of beverage) for a short period of time until your new ride arrives. Perhaps there is something like Zipcar in the Bay area where you are, too. I was going to do a rental if I happened to sell my previous vehicle privately before I could take delivery of my Summit last summer.

Yeah, that's basically my plan. And yes, we do have zipcar here. And I can occasionally borrow my g/f's vehicle, though that's very schedule-dependent because she often needs it for taking the kids, errands, etc.

I think I'll be able to figure something out. The one thing that can't be easily sorted out, though hopefully won't be an issue, is the possibility of a disaster occurring. I volunteer with the office of emergency services for two of the counties here, and the Explorer (and soon to be the Jeep) is my "go vehicle" that's equipped with all of my communications equipment, "go bags", emergency equipment, etc.

The Explorer has served me faithfully in that duty, including for hurricane Katrina. But sadly I don't think she's got another disaster in her - she'd be far more of a liability than an asset at this point. In fact, this weekend I'm starting the sad task of removing all of the communications equipment from the Explorer.

We might not have to! Per my newsletter from jeep:

ATTEND THE JEEP® CELEBRATION EVENT.
Now's the time to take advantage of a $500 Bonus Cash Allowance1 toward a new 2013 or 2014 Jeep vehicle! Find your local Jeep dealer now and get a great deal on a legendary Jeep vehicle before September 16, 2013. The end of summer could be the beginning of many new adventures.

Does this apply to JGC? Hopefully some of us can take advantage if we get ours by the 16th!!

I received that as well. Just didn't think I would take delivery by that point.

Does anyone know if we can upgrade membership, or do we have to do a whole new membership in order to change our level? I really want to get the build sheet for the new GC.

I "upgraded" for the same reason.

Edit: From Scott...."just send (via Paypal) the difference to payments@jeepgarage.org and then PM me when done."
