So...my GC is in the shipping yard along with several others. It can't ship until it goes KZ. At that time, the VIN gets registered so a Chrysler window sticker lookup works.

Am I correct?

Edit: Here's how its done

Full VIN calculation

Change the small x's to the 8 digit VIN provided in your VOTS email in this VIN # template:
1C4RJFBMXxxxxxxxx

Use the VIN above to calculate the VIN with the corrected checksum value (the big X in position 9) using this web tool:

http://www.alton-moore.net/vin_calculation.html

Next, edit the following URL to include your new full VIN:

http://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1C4RJFBMxECxxxxxx

Paste it in your browser address field and hit enter. It should generate a PDF file with your window sticker IF you are in KZ status and ready to ship.

That sounds about correct... It might not be the instant it hit KZ but you have the right idea

Studying the MOTS data shows vehicles getting shuffled, even moved to other yards, while being visually inspected for several days before going KZ. The Jan builds on the initial launch had many examples of this.

No it is usually "JS" which refers to "Ship to Storage" There are lots of "Cherokees" in JS right now.

Anyway, Milous mentioned before that he does not usually report "Storage" because people get panicked sometimes about it. Anyway, it is a normal part of the process and sometimes they are there for 5 minutes, sometimes they are there for 5 days.

Chevy Also pointed out that KZ (Plant Release) is kind of a transfer to the responsibility of the shipping company in ways. So without getting any more general about it, no there are still no Members I am aware of that have been Released.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Hey ladies and gentlemen, I'm looking to get an Overland or Summit Eco Diesel also.. For those of you who have already put your orders in, are you looking at paying the same price as what the Jeep build page estimates? I'd just like to have an idea of which models you are getting and the approx price so I know what I should be expecting when I walk into a dealership. I figured you all would be the best group to ask in this case. Thank!!

Edit: Full VIN calculation

Change the small x's to the 8 digit VIN provided in your VOTS email to this VIN # template:
1C4RJFBMXxxxxxxxx

Use this to calculate the VIN with corrected checksum value.

Alton's VIN Calculation Page

Edit the following URL to include your full VIN:

http://www.chrysler.com/hostd/window...RJFBMxECxxxxxx

Paste it in your browser address field and hit enter. It should generate a PDF file with your window sticker IF you are in KZ status and ready to ship.

I realized something I forgot to mention, or wash't clear, about the vin calculation in my earlier posts. "X" can be a valid check digit. So when you put your VIN in the VIN calculator your Check digit can be any check digit(0 thru 9 or X) then the VIN with the corrected Check digit shows up.

Most are getting 1% - 7% below invoice, which is referenced here:

If you are or become a member of an Affiliate organization that is part of the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Program then you are guaranteed 1% below invoice +$75 under the program, there are exceptions though such as the dealer Doc fee. Tread Lightly is, I assume, still one of these organizations. Other than that, people have been getting between 1% and 5% below invoice.

The build site gives you MSRP. That's the worst case price...NOBODY pays that. Invoice price is probably 5% below MSRP and most of us are 1% to 7% below that.

You can also sign up with an affiliate program for a minimal fee and get another 1%-2% off of your best negotiated price. That's part of how most are getting below 3%-5%. Search the forum for details. I signed up with Access Fund for $35.

Thanks for the info everyone. Another question though. If I sign up for an affiliate and go to the dealership, when is the best time for me to mention that I am affiliated with someone? Well the salesman try to bump the price up to ensure they get their money off of me?
