Just got the email from Jeep saying my CRD was "beginning to build". Great news. But when I check VOTS the web page just sits there at "loading". Will check later.

It would be really cool if Jeep would do like BMW does. They take pictures of your car at different points along the build process and send them to you. Its all automatic and sounds like a really neat idea.

Feeding the obsession....

You bring in control number that you get after signing up. You tell up front. The discount is calculated by the ordering software. In my case it took about 15 minutes to order. My understanding is that it is a fair deal for both parties. But ... You can try to negotiate like some people did and even better deal. I didn't because I ordered very early on and was just happy that I was able to.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Vtail, they may need to mix a few colors to complete the whole car, so you may get the rare and special "tye-dye"-rated trim level, no matter what you ordered.

As long as you are not Billet Silver, you should be OK. If silver, they may need to order more paint.

MOTS is for tracking once your Jeep leaves the plant. That is when MOTS will really shine. VOTS is as worthless as a snow cone at the north pole.

My guess is that the "Window Sticker by VIN" (WSBV?...Lol) check will be the next sign that they are moving...with MOTS soon thereafter.

I can explain part of this... The absolutely 1000's of updates that happen every day for this factory alone, not even including all of the updates that happen across all of Chrysler, sometimes the information on the surface is just wrong. As Milous is checking this stuff multiple times per day, he doesn't drill down into every line of the history every day (there can be 10 lines of location updates for 1 vehicle in 1 day). I think it was just a glitch, because I had seen the same info Milous did on that....

Now becasue I was doing some exploring, I noticed that your's may have very well jumped from the back of the pack (never actually there) to the Front. It appears to have left the building as well and maybe we will see some releases in the next few days!

Keep in mind this tracking info is most likely generated from a query against a relational database. The data that populates this database is probably entered and stored by scanning the vehicle at strategic locations. If a scan is missed, the report query may not associate with the subsequent records and that vehicle would appear to be "stuck". The additional underlying data is still there but has to be interpreted by a human since the chain of report data for that vehicle is broken.

Milous is one man and can't validate every vehicle in tracking or it would be a full time job! We appreciate his efforts greatly!

My personal VOTS just updated from anxious to impatient. The next three weeks are going to pass sloooowly.

VOTS shows me in Paint, with the attached photo. I'm glad it isn't actually my "specific vehicle", because I ordered red....
