Then, and only then, they all will be released. The real question which I don't know is have any CRD's been released? This question at least could be answered.

Also, they may be deciding on whether to tweak the programming before release, i.e. confirming all the numbers they had...

Any thoughts? Or additional disclosures?

EVERY unit doesn't sit for a month.. But from the start of production (in a launch) to the time the first ones are shipped is generally abt a month.

Once a new launch begins shipping, cars can go from D1 to a trailer in as little as 2 weeks, as many here have seen that ordered later '14 non-CRD Jeeps. Marlon calls em the real '14s. Lol.. He says the first builds are '13.5s.

What you're speaking of is what happens when the vehicle is still in pilot.

You have to remember, this car went into pilot shortly after the non-CRD '14s. Well over a year ago. Then pilot on the diesels stopped. At least in here. I'm sure they built a couple at CTC. Then the diesel went back into pilot in here. And that was the last run.. When the car goes into production, it CAN be updated later at your dealer, but if a 'change' was slated now, we wouldn't still be building them the "wrong" way. Make sense?

I assure you, this is a typical procedure.. This ain't my first rodeo. Trust me.

Now, are there some other things going on? Yep! But as Willx said, it's nothing I can speak on at the moment!

How to you get the $500 cash bonus/incentive certificate? What is the correct URL?

I thought that all you had to do was request a brochure for the GC from the website. I did so, and was most excited when I got a package in the mail from Jeep. That excitement was quickly diluted when I opened the mail and discovered it contained a brochure for the 2013 Grand.

After you sign up on their website for "updates" they will randomly send you a coupon. The timing of these cash incentives is not predictable and only happen a few times a year from what I have seen.

To give you an idea I have been signed up for "updates" for about a year and I have received 2-3 different incentives that all lasted about 30 days from the time I received them.

I heard a rumour down under that there was a new employee and instead of filling the crd with american diesel... they got filled with european diesel... and when the white house heard about that.... they stopped the crd's from being released until the calculate the loss of revenue to the US economy .... but have a feeling the big release and advertising campaign would be closer to the mark. Here in australia you couldn't watch tv for more than 10 minutes without seeing a jeep ad for the new 2014 grand cherokee....

Happens with all launches.
This is what I was assuming, and makes total sense. They want to make sure everything is in order (e.g. Shannon's GC at the track) and then build a mass of them to go out all at once for a release.

The comparison isn't great, but take cell phones - before they launch, there's months of production to create a mass of phones to sell. These are all basically sold orders, so it doesn't make as much sense, but I'm sure there's other benefits.

Am I right to assume 1) No CRD's have been shipped and 2) A large number will get released around the same time?

Ya I know, but they really only sat for 2 weeks then moved (some of them even quicker)... I guess that is the exception in this case.

Thanks for the input Chevy ALWAYS appreciated...

Re: 2014 diesel production

My frustration lies in the fact that most of us here have been waiting since the beginning of the year for this. We were told it would be here in March, then April, then May .... and so on. It has has been delayed month by month till... who knows when. Over the course of the past year, numerous high level company executives have publicly said that it would be released soon (several gave dates or time frames that came and went). If the corporate big wigs actually cared about customer satisfaction, they would get these to us as soon as possible. Since they are already built, and they are sitting on them, I have to assume that Fiat/Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep does not give a rats ass about customer satisfaction, but rather only the bottom line - $$$

Re: 2014 diesel production

If they are holding onto our Jeeps to make sure they are all correct (hence the reason they are still in inspection) before they are released, I do not mind waiting a little longer.
But, on the other hand, if they are simply doing it to hold them back like a dam before they release them all for marketing reasons (like acilate's phone example) that would tick me off.

To answer both questions.... We are not even at the normal post production shipment threshold on any of the units.

This is not a Marketing delay, and don't worry too much. Shipping is coming soon.
