My consultant side jumps in here... Jeep is a huge brand loyaltly machine and they know it. Chrysler is also aware of what we say here for the most part. There will likely be some more concrete information on this in the next couple of weeks. I don't think they can afford to keep such an activist group as Jeep owners in the Dark.

This isn't the Dart, Jeep owners will care.

We'll see when the order books are released next tuesday if the GC diesel is in there.
If this becomes "confirmed" and we get another major push-back...I'm going to go buy a Tahoe. The JGC Hemi would be just as good of a fit for me as the Tahoe...but after being jerked around for months I couldn't feel good about that.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Well, I asked on the Jeep Facebook page as for the availability of the EcoDiesel that I have "accused" them of falsely advertising it as it has been reviewed by a ton of car magazines/blog etc but nowhere to be found in dealerships...and this is their response:
Jeep The optional EcoDiesel engine in the 2014 Grand Cherokee will be available later in the summer. Stay tuned!

I hope this is true for you guys waiting on the EcoD.

Wow, that is interesting... First Chrysler response I have seen commiting to "Summer". I would be just fine getting it in late August.

I am the Anti-Facebook so I would have never seen that. Thanks for the update. Glued to this thread presently.

Maybe Chevy was just trying to get a rise out of us?

"summer" is up for interpretation. hopefully it's not after september 21 when fall actually starts.

I was going to say, "Summer" doesn't start until June 21st and runs through Sept 21st.

That would align with most of what we have been hearing recently.

Except... that if they are going to have them there by Sept 21st that the build would need to start in the next 30 days. Seems odd that they are going to start building a vehicle in the next few weeks and no one "in the know" seems to be sure about that. If they don't start building until August, they won't arrive until October/November.

Did you specifically mention U.S. availability in your question? Maybe they were taking advantage of vagueness and were like "Sure, it'll be available this summer...OVERSEAS!"

As been stated here, NAFTA get EcoDiesels - which is what I specifically asked them (not CRD)...I think I'll go back and stick my neck out for the V6's thread that I will soon be getting

Milious stated late June production... Seems within spec for August.

I'm probably being overly optimistic, but Jeep could still start production in late June or early July, which would line up with August/Sept delivery and still leave the door open for June ordering when the banks open next week.

We are all disappointed at no ordering on the 4th, but the door is not closed in the month yet and things could still line up with these time frames that we have been hearing.
