There is no claim. I *do* drive like a bat out of hell...sometimes.

But he has seen me drive normally, even in the Dart.

Ok, can I translate this.... it is that rare, that you drive "normally", that Chevy has "seen" you drive like that. So would that be once?

My Kinda Driver, Don't suppose you read my trailering review when I talked about some "spirited" driving after I took the trailer off. (Sport mode tight corners, paddle shifters soooo good)! Thank god for test vehicles.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Here is a, hopefully brief, summary of the things I learned here on JeepGarage.org about tracking my Jeep order. There have been a few questions in this area, hopefully this will answer a lot of them at once.

Once your order is verified and your dealer has allotment you go to "pre-release" (Status "D" I believe).
Most of us that ordered on 8/9 went to "pre-release" on 8/14.
At the time we went to "Pre-release" Most of us got emails from Jeep VOTS("Vehicle Order Tracking System"). The email contains the Last 8 Digits of your VIN. Other postings here show you how to figure out the first 9 digits of the VIN.

You can't sign into VOTS until you go to "pre-release". Although, we all kept trying: VOTS LINK

If everything is good with your order, you should get your email within a week of ordering; included in the email will be a link directly to VOTS, (where you don't have to type your Name or VON). Making the above link useless, (as it always was).

I bookmarked the VOTS link from the email and put it right next to the MOTS link.

The email also said you should get a second email in about a week when your vehicle was scheduled for production. It was a good deal longer than a week for many of us. At that point Milous(MOTS) shows your status as "D1" and an estimated delivery date is posted.

MOTS may show your change of status to "pre-release" and "D1" before or after you get your emails.

"pre-release" and "D1" both show up as "Production Scheduled" on VOTS.

After "D1", MOTS hasn't shown anything until it's built. I think most people heard here and read in MOTS they were "Built - Pending Inspection" before they found out through VOTS. My guess is I will hear mine is built before I notice VOTS shows anything past "Production Scheduled". The best thing VOTS is for is it shows all your options so you know they got the order right. I think I read where it says "3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel Engine" 50 times...

(This was asked and answered recently but I figured I would show an example.)
On the POC ("purchase order Confirmation") before you go to pre-release a VON will be shown and where it says VIN will be blank. This is normal. If the "priced order confirmation", (or other form), is printed again by the dealer, after the order has gone to "Pre-Release", the form will show the Last 8 of the VIN...

Here is a link to a "Priced Order Confirmation" when just the VON was on the form(all items the dealer wouldn't want disclosed have been blurred)...

I hope this has been helpful to the newbies out there. Many Other questions can simply be answered by going to MOTS and reading. MOTS LINK. Also, to Milous and the others, thank you for all you do.

Mine would have to be driven by superman to turn back time to deliver it on 9/6 as scheduled. My guess is we are not going to see these thing before October, as my source said several months ago. I was hoping he was wrong, but it is starting to look that way.

Tech tip of the day

2014 WK - 3.0L VM Diesel Engine Oil Filter Element Service

It may take 30 minutes or longer for the engine oil in the oil filter housing to completely drain back into the engine. The oil will only drain back into the engine through the oil pump gears. When servicing the oil filter, vehicle maintenance personnel need to be made aware that the residual oil in the housing may spill from the housing when the new filter is installed.

To prevent residual oil in the housing from spilling when the new filter is installed, either use a suction gun to remove any residual oil left in the housing or wait about 30 minutes to allow the oil to drain back into the engine.
