You are in D1 status which means your vehicle has a reserved place in the production schedule. You vehicle WILL be built. It has typically taken 2 to 4 weeks to move from D1 to Built and in Inspection.

Edit: If you receive a 2nd VOTS email, then D1 applies. I was incorrect. The emails are a better indicator of status.

In VOTS, doesn't it say that when just in 'D' status as well?

Jerek,

Have you received a second email from VOTS announcing:

"Your new Jeep is now scheduled for production."

When you get this, you are officially D1 Production Scheduled.

Thanks everybody for explanation! No, I haven't received second email yet, but I only placed my order yesterday. I'm psyched it's officially in the system and the options are correct. That's all I need for now

Welcome! Now you can await your 2nd email. Don't obsess too much (yet) because the VOTS emails seem to only go out at 7:30 EST. It gets more interesting after that.

Re: 2014 diesel production

It's 8:30ish Eastern Time.

Oh and CB711, no talking crap about my driving. I've already got it in my head that I'm driving the Jeep (need to take it out after "The Incident") so... No crazy driving.

For everyone else concerned about going to D1, don't panic, I think they will get all of the initial orders built before releasing any of them. My speculation is that they want a huge release at the same time or just before a national media blitz. They want these things in every corner of every state, so when the media blitz hits, we will all be there with our CRD's and be able to show the general public how awesome they are. You think there is a wait for them now, just wait till ours are released, and the media blitz hits - there will be a total buying frenzy.
I don't know if the distribution infrastructure could handle delivering them all at the same time. The distribution infrastructure is meant to operate at the same speed as the plant. Nobody wants to pay overtime. At Christmas time UPS can't avoid the extra packages, even still, they have a capacity.

So, if they hold them up for timing reasons, it can't be for very long.

The hard part is we will never know the reason for the delays.

It has been 16 days since yours was built; they can't keep it for too much longer.

Is there a train schedule? Can it be determined what day of the week is a most likely departure?

EDIT: I Just looked at the 3 vehicles with a Tampa destination on MOTS that have been delivered. The 3 had 9 to 14 days from KZ to delivery. This would mean mine would be shipping about 14 Days from today. I'm not holding my breath. If Built to KZ takes 2 days then it's possible.

I see the train schedules.... the problem is that it is an ever changing schedule, as in every day. It doesn't really help but to further feed the obsession.

There is a delivered vehicles history at the end of the MOTS data. I studied the MOTS data to determine train patterns. My region always has the train leaving Sunday and Thursday to Louisville-->Nashville-->Memphis...a 5 day trip. The train appears to leave in a 12-18 hour window.

Jeez...is there a 12 step for Jeep obsession?

I'm not a genius by ANY stretch...but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express....once.

Seriously, being an engineer has its downsides. My poor wife....
