Re: 2014 diesel production

Yeah, I'm looking at the Cooper AT3 Discoverer in 265/65/r18... slightly larger than stock at 31.6" x 10.4". Supposed to be some good shoes.

Yeah Cooper still makes good tires.. I just put 8 of em on the big truck yesterday. $3400, last abt 2 years.

Did any of the other guys who swapped ever post pics or give reviews of the Jeep with 'better' tires? I know SnoFire had a deal in place to swap his before he even took delivery.

Cooper makes truck tires? Maybe I'll get 8 Coopers for the motorhome to go along with the Cooper DISCOVERER A/T3's™(OEM Sized) on the new jeep. $425 sounds good!, I'll have to find a Cooper Truck Tire Dealer in Tampa. I still have all the Originals on my Motorhome (4 years old), they look good though, (no cracks and good tread).

Edit: looks like cooper (ROADMASTER) doesn't have 295/80R 22.5's. I guess I am stuck with Samson tires at $400 a piece.

Yeah, that's what they are, Roadmaster's (24s).. Still gotta change the steers and the trailer tires before the weather changes, but these (on the drives) are decent. They're not Michelin's but who wants to pay $700 a tire!

Re: 2014 diesel production

Went to D1 today Woohoo!
It seems like the general theory of scheduling applies here. Though my order date was two weeks away from the majority batch here, my delivery date (taken with a grain of salt) seems to be more or less piled up with everyone else.

That is EXACTLY how it works. Do NOT pay for a vehicle unless you've inspected it and driven it. No decent dealer will expect you to completely pay for the vehicle before it has been delivered and you can see it firsthand.

So do I sign anything? They want me to come in tomorrow and go over paper work?

You can go over all the paperwork you want with them. However, I would not sign ANYTHING that commits you to purchasing the vehicle until it has arrived and you've inspected it. If they balk at that, walk and re-order with a better dealer. I know that isn't pleasant and it means another wait but asking you to pay for the vehicle before you have it is just unnecessary and shady IMHO.

Did you agree on the price for the car? Do have anything that says the car is for you when it comes? When i ordered my JGC diesel, I left a deposit and got an order confirmation than had the price we agreed upon on it. Without that they can sell the car to anybody when it arrives...

Maybe they just want you to come in and leave a deposit? That's kind of stupid of them though if they already ordered the car for you...

I'm going to have to research them more before I decide. If Cooper (Roadmaster) made my size I would definitely go with them.
