Re: 2014 diesel production

For all you guys worrying about miles, they should have no less than 2 and no more than 10. It just depends how much jockeying needs to be done to get the Jeep from the factory to your dealer's door. Our Wranglers usually come in with 2 miles, Grand's have 3 or 4.

No sales manager in his right mind is going to let a sold vehicle get demo'd for any reason...too many chances for something to get screwed up.

Re: 2014 diesel production

My ordered WK2 came off the truck with 4 miles, I took delivery with 8 miles. That's fine by me.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I'm assuming there is a "bread crumb" setting on the NAV but would it be on by default?

That is about normal... sometimes they have the additional testing but those are few and far between once production really gets going.

Radio Systems are completely disabled (blindfolded) during shipping.

Also they may drive the vehicle at the factory as part of the quality testing.
So there will be more than a "couple" of miles on it, but that applies to any manufacturer. Frankly the shuttle movements of the vehicles from one yard to another would give you more than a couple of miles.
Just got my Durango Monday and looking at the PDI paperwork it had 2 miles on it at the dealer and then the dealer drove it to 9 miles. PDI instructions said to drive it 8 to 10 miles while checking off a bunch of stuff.

That would be totally fine with me. I just don't want the sales guys getting a feel for how the CRD drives with mine.

My wife's car came off the truck w/ 3 and we took delivery with 6. We bought it at a dealer a couple of hundred miles away and couldn't pick it up until that weekend. I sent them a check by Overnight mail and told them to not drive it. They said, Ok, it has 6 miles on it now, it will have 6 when you get here. It did.

The car we got her before that was bought locally but found as a dealer trade about 200 miles away. We got it with about 220 miles, but we knew they drove it from one to the other and that was clear when doing the deal. It wasn't 200 miles of test drives.

Seems fairly simple.

Well I know where it's coming from and with the tracking, how it gets there, but I'm thinking more of once the dealer has it, could we see where they drove it using the NAV?

Once the PDI is done... I suppose, never really looked at it. As noted though "normally" they will have less than 10 miles on a sold unit. SOMETIMES there is more but there is a factory installed sticker on the window explaining they did road testing and that the vehicle is driven within exacting limits.

Is that something that can be omited at this point since I have a VIN? Not sure why they issued a VIN when the mopar stuff is delayed indefinitely.
So I did a bit of digging into the mopar stuff on my order...

Apparently, the dealer checked mopar appearance group instead of engine block heater. I asked the dealer if that is factory done or dealer done, and they still haven't figured it out (it has been nearly two weeks). Chevy says that is a dealer done thing. I sure hope he is right, because otherwise, I'll be waiting a loooong time.

You should ask them for a discount if you have to reorder. That is ridiculous. They should make sure that they have everything done right before ordering a $50,000 or more vehicle.
