He also told me he has had multiple people asking him if they can test drive my CRD when it arrives. Of course he said no, but there had better not be a bunch of miles on my Jeep!
Before you start taking Bets, shipping dates from the dealer mean next to nothing because they track from the "Funny" VOTS Data. So below is a selection of Vehicles and Dealer Ship dates as of today.... Notice any problems? That stuff I talked about a bunch of posts back does not apply to the dealer data on their order screens. It is why I place faith in the MOTS data, because when it does update it will be accurate.

My Personal Favorites are a Vehicle that is not even in Production (D) that Shipped last Month, Vehicles Released but not Shipped (KZL) that left last week and the all time favorite the one in Paint (F) that shipped 3 days ago (It has Shannon's Syndrome, been going around JNAP lately)

Not trying to crash the party and your vehicle MAY actually ship on that day but it would be the only vehicle leaving the day it was scheduled to leave according to dealer data that I have seen in a long time.

It may even leave before that date?!?! Now that is the plus side

Re: 2014 diesel production

Willx, thanks for the explanation. I know that VOTS will not be accurate, but it is the only data I have at the moment. MOTS is great, but only really comes into play after the Jeep ships. (KZ)
Chevy has explained the reason why they are holding them, and I get it. It makes sense to me. I am only giving the data I have been shown in my crystal ball!

No Problem!

I am just trying to give you both the positive and the negative, so you don't get too fixated on the 26th.... Just a hint, MOTS tells you stuff that you cannot find in VOTS. Keep an eye on the Trends, watch the vehicles that finished build before yours (and anyone else for that matter) and watch the moves even without release. You will know well before your dealer that something is going on

Edit: and I should add, MOTS does show you when you get through inspection, you just need to know how to read it. I am lucky I get to compare what I see on both sides and really... I don't have VOTS because as I say, who needs to know when when I am in paint?... I mean that is cool on paper, but just like the shipping stuff is goofy, the most important stuff is "D1" because your seat is reserved and (I) that being that she is DONE!.... Another hint, if your vehicle gets a Bay location update any time after (I) it passed the initial inspection and is pretty well good to go!!

Re: 2014 diesel production

Funny story, the sales guy that had denied to me that the diesel was coming (even the beginning of the year) called me today. He said that they will be getting 3 diesel GCs in...probably the first week or two of October. They are all spoken for including one that is for their general manager.
I told him that I really need to drive one before I order one (white lie). I said that their general manger is going to have to let me drive his otherwise I'm going to have to test drive at another dealership.

Guess what....I'm going to be able to drive their GMs GC diesel. I think it's an overland.
I'm going to see if I can bring it back with a little dirt on it!!!! I'll try and take some before and after pics and post them up here when I'm done with it! Maybe it'll be my submission for Jeep of the Month for October. A nice brand new mud-covered Overland Diesel owned by a general manager of a dealership. That might even get me Jeep of the Year!

Just keep in mind that a nice guy like me who spends a lot of time at dealers already agreed to allow some show and tell because of the short original supply.

So that is a warning to any of you who may try to offroad my truck... I will find you

Hmmm... Mine doesn't have a bay location update like some of the other CRD's, but it does still say this:

Matt'sGC (Limited CRD - True Blue)
Date ordered: 08/09/2013
Current Status: I
D1 status date: 08/16/2013
Estimated delivery: N/A
Built - Pending Inspection: (I) 09/09/2013 09:52 AM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI
In Bay At Facility 09/09/2013 12:13 PM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI

Does this indicate it is still in an inspection bay? The way I read it, that is what it means to me.
Shannon, where did you get that Avatar???

So here is some really cool info for anyone in the Diesel thread, it means your truck went from the finish line, through inspection and out the door in less than a few hours.... While it is not released from the Factory, just like my Signature says yours has passed the Initial inspection. Though it is technically possibly they may bring it back to do something, at this point highly unlikely. It is just waiting for Chevy to give his blessing .

I think it moved a couple of parking spaces since then but is in the same LOT.

Anyway, gotta go get some Diesels ready to ship and Sergio is on hold on the other line, so I might not be around much over the next couple of days.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I have been in iPhone hell; as a result, I reviewed some old images I texted. (I was able to fix the problem, (I hope), without deleting my images.)

Here's one that reminds me how far we've come and how far we have yet to go. Since we are not there yet, at this point the days go by very slow...

Re: 2014 diesel production

Does anyone know when the production start date for the October Cycle (September Orders) is supposed to start. Also, wouldn't it make sense they would want to have released some of these by then? My guess for the October cycle to start is Monday the 30th.

So the KZ status changes I think will happen on Friday, the 27th at the latest; if they don't, I think it might point to something that is not by design...

A bunch of bad press at the beginning of this introduction would not be good. I think that "JD Power Initial Quality" thing is important to them.

You're not the only one.. I've been fighting both my phone and iPad all day trying to get the wallpaper to fit the freakin screen. I gave up. Almost threw both out the window on the interstate.

Depends on when we get caught up with the current orders.. This is why ordering doesn't open on the same day each month. And also why sometimes the banks close early. We only accept so many new orders each month. And in rare cases, some months can get skipped bc of problems that slow production.
