No one knows, because Jeep has not yet released the Diesels. We are hoping for October, but then again, we hoped for March, April, May, June, July, August, and September. At least this month, they have been building them, so I am a little more optimistic they will arrive in October.

Ya, I guess I should have phrased that question differently. How long from "Production Scheduled" to storage at the shipping "yard" lol.

What is the interest on 150 million for a week? It matters.

I certainly am not guaranteeing anything.

My jeep needs to ship soon!!
How about a short term rental to hold you over? Maybe your dealer could help you out with that?

Well whaddya know, that would mean that 9/26 ship date on my latest order printout is accurate. Here's hoping!

Willx, you are correct, Chrysler/Fiat is sitting on a lot of inventory of finished product. That means a heck of a lot of money they are laying out with no immediate return. That sounds like incentive to ship to me!

150,000,000 is only for a little more than 3000 CRDs. I believe there are more total.

If $$$ is the issue, why didn't they ship them a month ago when they rolled off the line

Meh... would have to get to DC for that... Already planning on a rental to get down there to pick up my new buggy. I will solve the bike's problems and just have some adventures over the next week or two riding back and forth to work in the rain and freezing cold.

Done it before... I just get odd looks when I walk in the building looking like a bright yellow spaceman.

you didn't ask that, you mentioned you didn't think another week mattered and I was just pointing out it does.

There are other reasons they sat, some of those reasons changed and I believe that very soon there will be no other reason to continue to wait. I was just saying they will not let it go one more day that what is needed because it costs money.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Anyone know if they have received EPA certification ? That could hold up deliveries. Diesel GC has not shown up on fueleconomy.gov .

It was confirmed a while back that this was not the problem.

Well, I am sure they are holding onto them to make sure they do not have to recall that many CRD's. It would probably cost them more than that to fix a major issue. Makes sense to me, but that is a lot of cash outlay!
