This diesel thread has probably had more access to more information on the moment to moment happenings with your builds than probably the great majority of prior JeepGarage Members.... Stuff like the Meaning of JS and where your vehicles are and actually when they were traveling down the line.

Do you think that has been a help or a hindrance? I guess I am asking if feeding all of your anxiety about what is happening now and or possibly next, has that made this experience better or worse for you...?

I thought about this the other day, that maybe being in the dark like the rest of the world, not knowing my vehicle actually completed inspection and or maybe even knowing it was built may have been good.

So is Ignorance bliss, or is MOTS that high that just keeps you running until that truck arrives at your dealer?

Opinions please!

Thanks
Will,

I like more info. The issue here is most of us have been waiting up to 9 months for this. This is highly unusual having to wait so long for a vehicle.

Will,
Put simply, for those CRD's that have been listed in VOTS as "Final Inspection" for more than 2 days, this thread provides the only assurance their vehicle is not F%&#@D UP!

No information would be better than what VOTS gives in this situation.

Think of all those poor suckers, some in Shannon's situation, that have not found this site. All, all they have been told is your car has been in inspection for 4 weeks.

Don't underestimate the service you have provided; thank all of you so much for everything. Everyone here feels the same way.

Yep. Charlievoix sits directly next to the 9 or so railyard tracks where train cars are queued and a mobile loading ramp is clearly visible from satellite images.

OK, well for you I have some information and take it as it reads. I did some double checking and the Oct 4 Date likely shows on your Dealer's update and view orders screen right now (you can ask them if you like but you didn't hear it here)

This information is generated from the same system as VOTS and as I posted a while back VOTS info can show stuff in Paint that was shipped last month and or other bizarre stuff (I still don't know where that data comes from). But here is the thing, that info was not there about a week ago, so maybe something got updated.... If that is the REAL ship date for you, there are vehicles that will be leaving before you.

So again, that is just how it appears, I prefer to be of the belief that the Factory is expecting to ship any day now as the real stuff (MOTS) doesn't yet show a status for you Shannon. As also noted Previously MOTS sees the stuff that is closer to what I call the "Real" status.... so now it is a matter of predicting if this is the 1 in 20 times that the VOTS data is correct

Re: 2014 diesel production

Personally, the information I've been exposed to on this site during the long, long, LONG wait for my new skittle and rainbow farting unicorn has simply fed my obsession for my new toy. I find it ironic that the "gestation period" for my new unicorn is closely matching the gestation periods for my kids.

Being able to watch the events unfold over the last 10 months as this new vehicle has been hinted at, built, revealed, tested, rolled out... it's been great.

NOW GIVE ME MY DAMN JEEP!!!!

Will,
It has been very helpful IMO. I really enjoyed reading about updates and delays first hand from people with more information than the dealers. While the delays have been frustrating, I have never been mad at people like you letting us in on what you know. Thank you with all sincerety.

LOL....yes, yes...lately I have to carry my wall charger in my pocket!

As for the info being helpful....yes, to me it is. But I am the guy that often wants the bleeding edge stuff. I research a lot then decide I want a feature yet to come, then wait for it while reading up on it. As an engineer, I make informed decisions for a living so for me "knowledge is power".

Not to poke the bear(well.. kind of)..yours may not ship earliest since it is stuck in the corner of the yard surrounded by everyone else's CRD that was built after yours.

I thought about that too. Mine was parked 9/6. That's the earliest reported in the Charlievoux Yard. I hope its at the edge of all the parked CRDs so they can get to it.

If you look at the satellite view on Google maps, it appears that Jeeps are parked end to end and bumper to bumper in straight lines. Yikes!

They move them around A LOT... I have seen the space update sometime a few times in a day.... however I think most of us initial build people are caked in there pretty good now
