He seemed to think it was less money. Not sure what his configuration was ( comfortline or execline). I think he had the higher end one though so maybe he was comparing overland?

Anyway he had some choice words about the amount of information out there and no availability.... he did say he had to wait on a very popular car once because of backlog but never heard of a vehicle that is everywhere and can't be ordered.

I do see his point for sure.

I too am starting to think of a plan B. My pickup is doing ok, so I am not in an hurry. I have heard the LR4 is due for a redesign soon. Might just have to look at that. I have never owned a chrysler product, and it looking like I never will.

Re: 2014 diesel production

The dealer flyer for Canada shows the Diesel for Ram 1500 quad cab is to be available at the end of August and beginning of September for regular cab models. The date is TBD for the Grand Cherokee..

On the Canadian sites you can price a 2014 Diesel Grand Cherokee and try and find it at your local dealer.

The 2014 Ram on the other hand doesn't exist in the outside the dealership.

I was more referring to the public perception of availability and how it is driving showroom traffic.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I specifically haven't gone to my local dealer yet because from following here, I know diesel Ram or GC isn't available yet, and who knows when it will. They have a Red Trailhawk with the V6 I am seriously contemplating instead. The premium to get the diesel engine in Canada is ridiculous since it has to be in the Overland minimum. Probably looking at close to $14k difference between the two once negotiations begin.

I don't understand the games on the diesel though. Why don't they just say what the Fing problem is. I get there are problems but just sad that there is no reason why every member of every media organization on the planet has driven one but the customer gets told they don't build those yet.

I am right there with you Willx, I am sick of seeing these diesels being advertised everywhere with no actual product. I saw a TV commercial yesterday and I told my wife: "That better not be an Ecodiesel." But sure enough, there was the recognizable badge on the rear end. I held out my middle finger the the Chrysler marketing dept.

As I have mentioned to other Canadians, make sure you compare base equipment etc. Price structure is totally different, for example a Summit comes with a V6 in the US but a V8 in Canada. Gather all the information and make an informed decision is all I say.

Don't hold your breath - Scott posted a couple of days ago that even the Cherokee is getting delayed, again.

I was actually at work yesterday listening to the Tigers game, and heard a new radio ad at least 5 times, specifically mentioning 30mpg, and V6 turbo-diesel, and 700+ mile driving range... Oh, and late availability..

It's really unfortunate for you guys who really want it.. I actually had to go locate one last week just to make sure they do still exist.

You know, I really hate to be the guy to say I told ya so, so I won't.. But if someone could help me find that post where I detailed what the CRDeal is, that'd be great.. I can't seem to locate it. And feel free to post it here if you like.
