Secondly, even though this put a slight damper on my day.. hearing I wont get my Jeep for at least another 7-10 days minimum.... I found out I will be having a little boy next February! Ultrasound was today and once I saw that I envisioned us offroading in the Jeep, pulling a trailer with some dirtbikes or quads loaded on it, heading out hiking or camping via the Grand Cherokee, and playing hockey... which you can loosely relate to the grand cherokee since it will haul our gear.

Anyway long day, mixed emotions in some ways but amazing day in the end! Now lets get the Jeep here so I can get it ready for his arrival in a few months!
Congrats to you, and may you and your son one day do all you envision in your JGC.

I guess we're basically in the same boat. My Explorer is not only unsafe, it is now illegal to drive (registration just expired and there's no way I'm even going to try and get it through smog) so all I have is my motorcycle until the Jeep arrives.

OK. Not sure that makes my head hurt any less though. So there was an issue that required some type of update/fix, and that's basically done (?), and there's also an issue that doesn't require any fixes/updates but is holding up the release. ?

I understand there's only so much you guys can say, and though I probably don't need to say it - you certainly shouldn't jeopardize your jobs/contacts/etc to give us info. But any little bit that you can provide does help and is much appreciated!

Chances are it is completing this evening sometime (or early AM). I will re-check in the morning!

I can help a little with the clarification....(my statement applies to the current moment in time so don't re-quote me when stuff changes again).

Nothing to "fix" on the Diesel at the moment in relation to release

Fixes on the Gas Models have been in play for more than a few days and only relate to the "Gas" models in regards the the recall.

The recall is not related to anything to do with the Diesel Conversation at the moment except the statement following.

The "software" that may be needed to load to correct "lights" in the display can be loaded at the dealer and would be part of the pre-delivery on any JGC as is always done with Recalls on SOLD units. Just means there is nothing really to think about, It will apply to a certain VIN range and anything that was not done at the factory will be done by the dealer.

** Just keep the Recall and the Diesel Conversation Separate as it won't affect Diesel buyers as long as the fix for the RECALL is released before the Diesels **

Any better??

Close, but no cigar.. But very close.

I'll be down at one of the larger offsite yards tomorrow and will check on the ones that left last weekend... But no worries, both 'things' are being addressed. However, as you implied, some things are out of our hands.

But just look at it like this, some people will have a headstart in shipping when the coveted 'KZ' shows up, as none of those cars are coming back to JNAP. They just need a lil attention.

Something to sidetrack us a bit while waiting - ever wonder where the name "Jeep" came from? Here is what Wikipedia has to say,
Jeep - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and a short Popeye cartoon in case you never saw or don't remember "Eugene the Jeep"...

Congrats. We are having a boy (our first) in January. We are having trouble with a name. How about you guys?

Now that's some serious humor! I howled when I read it. ROTFLMAO!

I'm just getting caught up on the flurry of post. Awesome that there is no mechanical/electrical issue to be corrected on older builds...if I read that correctly.

The delay in the release of the diesels is due to a new requirement which has only become relevant in the last few days.

The diesel now needs to have the ability to print american dollars given that the government no longer can.
