So to answer the rest of it, 98% of all CRDs that were in the US/Canada Track are JS (Ship to Storage). Less than 2% were in Inspection and Less than 1% were on a truck from a yard to another yard. 0% were in any sort of repair facility including JE.
I notice you say none are sent to emissions. I believe that is because there is no problems with emissions (therefore no need to send to emissions), but rather I believe that Jeep was due to get the final EPA certification the first week of October. The government shutdown delays this. No final emissions certification from uncle sam, no window stickers, no shipping.
Still waiting for the ding ding.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Willx,
any idea why I'm "in bay at facility" two weeks after build instead of in some yard?

Thanks for the added info Willx! I wasn't actually serious about our vehicles being in JE, though I did find it interesting there was a specific code for that. However it sounds from your comment that that's really more of a repair destination.

Only 2% in inspection? What about all of those vehicles that customer support said were in "100% total inspection" mode? Are you saying customer support is not well-informed? I'm shocked!

I wonder if that 1% on a truck to another yard are the ones that Chevy said would have a "head start" on shipping once the kzs started going ...

BTW, just out of curiosity - any chance you can check on my status. It's obviously in a yard somewhere, but the last update I have has "N/A" for the location. I'm wondering if a location was later added but was missed in the mound of data that Milous needs to sort through. Not that it really matters which yard it's in, though it might be nice to know if my Jeep has "friends" nearby (e.g., other JG members in the same lot). Who knows - maybe they'll forge some bonds while hanging out.

10/3 - VOT still says FINAL INSPECTION
Customer Service hasn't changed their comments about my unit having being built and selected for 100% inspection. However, when I pressed for more info, they told me my status is JS - "shipped to storage". Still cannot get a window sticker. Hmmmm maybe the EPA rumor has merit

Estimated ship date is now 10/4 with unloading at Port Allen railyard on 10/5. This must be a WARPSPEED express train! Or, more likely, they system is not going to be updated until something starts moving again.

Info from VOT and customer service seems to be totally random and almost useless but at least it is fun trying to chase it down and reading everyone else's theories. Can't do anything much else til my ride gets here.

Those rail dates just cycle until it gets on the first rail car as an FYI. VOTS will only show something else when it hits KZ* (where * is something beyond nothing).

Last I heard (yesterday), none of the diesels had got it yet though, bc they're still "updating" shipped gas cars with earlier buid dates. Nothing is in repair for that recall though in the plant. Again, all the late September builds are ok. Minus diesels. They have their own needs. But not the ones built after last Thursday. They're ok.
Man, I just made the cutoff. Mine was built on Friday.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Government shutdown halts EPA's gas mileage ratings

An official EPA mileage rating needs to be present on window stickers for a new car to be sold in the U.S.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Yup. But unless I missed something, the EPA has nothing to do with the actual fuel economy testing unless they want to perform their own followup tests. Manufactureres perform the tests and self-certify. If the EPA finds their numbers wrong (see Hyundai, Ford), bad juju occurs.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Nautiboy, I can understand your confusion, and instead of referring to your 5 point post and contradicting others, I'll just ask a couple questions:

Seeing that you joined in April, you may or may not have read about the issue back in January which I labeled "the great catastrophe" with the initial launch builds. I know a couple members in this thread will remember, but my question is, did you all ever find out what it was? I mean a lot was made of why the cars were being held up so long, and people actually had begun seeing later builds leaving while theirs allegedly sat in 'inspection.' But until I said something, nobody came forth with an explanation. I informed the forum that "something" was going on, and the evidence ppl saw here was that the older builds weren't moving. It was a big mess. And nobody had an answer why. I could've explained it, at my dismay of course bc I probably would've gotten fired, but signaling that sumn was actually going on, was sufficient for most. JeeperJohn is the first name that comes to mind as I type this, as his was the poster child of that issue.

Another "issue" that comes to mind was the seats. How'd that find its way here? Nobody knew anything abt the supplier issue and production delays until, well, an explanation was given. Ppl had begun to speculate and b!tch abt us dragging our feet, and nobody came forth with an explanation until, well.. You get the point.

Those are just 2 examples of many.

In my short time here, I've been challenged on damn near everything that isn't "confirmed" by those who REALLY know what's going on inside JNAP. Yet most times, not all, but most times my intel is found to be useful. And accurate. And when it's not, I'm the first guy to go back and say, I got it wrong. Here's the deal...

So here's my point, MOST of what goes on in JNAP doesn't get 'leaked.' There just isn't anyone else in the plant who really cares about talking. And the ppl on the corporate side MAY talk when asked abt something, but then again, would YOU tell everything that isn't good news? I have yet to read anything about many of the delays and problems we've had over the course of this model's life (11-current).. And keep silent on much of it myself, because if the ppl aren't frettin' why give em a reason to? But when they are, it's SOMEBODY'S responsibility as an 'insider' to let them know something! Right?

I posted abt CRDs shipping last week, and I'll take any darts anyone wants to throw abt THAT being wrong. Better wording should have been 'moving.' Which is still accurate. And I maintain that they are moving out the plant. And out of our immediate storage. Which rules out many of the theories associated with them being idled. Telling you all that they're moving, also tells you that there isn't a build related thing holding them up. Which is why I posted it. But again, my wording was wrong, so I do apologize for any confusion that caused... But I find it weird that I didn't get pm's about where some of the cars were at/going/etc, UNTIL I said something! Why wasn't that info given to you all? Why am I being 'corrected' when I physically see what's going on? And furthermore, I know why they aren't being "shipped" to your dealers yet... TELL THE PEOPLE was my thought. Isn't that what they paid to track for? Again, which I why I said something!

So again, back to an earlier point, if it's proven that what all goes on inside JNAP isn't leaked, then when I say that there actually is another small diesel 'thing' how can ppl who didn't even know abt the past issues (non-diesel specific) say so confidently, that nothing's up? That clearly contradicts what I'm telling you! That's why you're confused!.. It'd be a lot easier, and respectful as far as I'm concerned, to just plainly say, "Chevy is wrong and doesn't know wtf he's talking abt!.. This is what 'we' know..." But when that clear line isn't drawn in the sand, then nobody knows what any of us are talking about.. I plainly stated, we're talking about different things. One involves what you all have been discussing. But there is a second thing! Period. End of conversation.. Will you ever know? Probably not.. But at least I'm willing to give you SOMETHING! And yes, you're right, it's being addressed. And is unrelated to the other unknown.

Point is, we're not on the same page anymore. And trying to help has become tiresome. And I'm tired of being checked on everything I say.. I have the upmost respect for whatever the hell Milous really does, bc if he works as hard as he does here, and this isn't even his real gig, then I can only imagine how he works at work. But to that point, I would never tell him something isn't happening in his workplace when I don't work there. Regardless of whether or not I know ppl in his company (who also don't work in his office). Chrysler is a big company. Seems like everybody here knows somebody. And it's not hard to find sources. But not everybody tells everything. Sometimes they don't even know what's happening INSIDE the plants.. Which I guess means it's not happening. Whatever... But I will tell you this, I didn't get the rep I have here by asking for it. I just don't care to qualify everything I say anymore. So sorry for the confusion, but trust me, you're not really confused.
