Re: 2014 diesel production

I second this. With this kind of customer service, it makes me nervous to think what it would be like if I had a problem after delivery. My dad had a 2012 JGC Summit with a rattle in the dash that Jeep couldn't fix and gave him a brand new one at 15K miles, no charge for tire wear, no money, straight trade so I am hoping for better service than this after delivery.

Well, this time they didn't give me any B.S. They have updated my ship date from Oct 19th to "they didn't know" and said mine has been "shipped to storage" and was not at JNAP anymore. The guy felt bad he didn't have any real info. Until mine has shipped I will be under stress. If the end of the month comes before shipment, I won't be under stress any more, I'll just be angry. At that point I might cancel and re-order in January.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I just received an update from my dealership saying that they expect a release date from the plant of October 15. No further details were offered, take it for what it's worth if you'd like to believe le dealership.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Ok guys, don't want to hijack the thread, but really wanted to give you guys the opportunity first. So, one last post on the Open House this coming Sunday..

I just recieved a reply (email) from the powers that be, and I have good news. It says that there will be a tour and it WILL be comprehensive, however nothing will be running. Which is obvious, otherwise I'd be working.

So far I have Brainstormer, Vtail and Shannon accounting for 3 of the 5 tickets. If they can make it. Which leaves 2 tix. Anyone else who is interested, pm me.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Good luck. I can't believe that senior management (i use that term loosely) hasn't shared the issues with the Customer Service Reps. This makes the entire company look bad. I noticed that Jeep Engineers sometimes have Q&A's here. I wonder if they would let that happen regarding our ecodiesels? I am interested in the delay, but as a government worker with no paychecks coming in, it is nice to not have that payment. lol

Re: 2014 diesel production

I'm starting to feel sorry for you guys that are only getting a 100% inspection. By my calculations, I'm getting a 700% inspection... Now that's quality!

Re: 2014 diesel production

Did you get the recall notice this morning that went out for most of the DoD ? The shutdown seems to mainly apply to public works.

"I can't believe that senior management (i use that term loosely) hasn't shared the issues with the Customer Service Reps. This makes the entire company look bad"

Well another choice is that they don't know which would make them look clueless. Or know but have no resolution which makes them look powerless. Or know but have been told by (agency of choice) not to ship. Which would impact executive bonuses more ?

Re: 2014 diesel production

I was bored so i called Customer Service for a laugh. Nice young lady named Ella told me i was in a comprehensive 100% inspection. I asked her if my status was "I" or "JS" and she asked me if i was a Jeep employee. I told her i have many friends (All Y'all) that are in the know. She admited that i was JS, in storage and not in inspection. She also said there was no delivery date now as opposed to the 10/14 I was told last week. She apologized that she had no other information. Not looking good for us. I wonder if we should start a i cancelled my order thread. I will wait another month. I am on a road trip over Thanksgiving to Austin TX from Chicago and throught the Jeep would be perfect.

New delay theory.... Sunspots are causing computer issues with scheduling shipments. as a fix, Jeep is looking into the Progesso Soup Can system with waterproof string and a 7 inch TFT screen with blue tooth connectivity.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Why does everyone think this has anything to do with the EPA. It's pretty obvious to me that this is not government related. You don't think Jeep has lobyist capable of clearing up an EPA log jam causing over $250 million in backlog.

There's some kind of supply side problem. I have never worked in automotive, but coming from Aerospace I can see the only thing causing this kind of delay is some sort of a supply side issue they are trying to straighten out. Hell my company used to have these problems all the time and thats why we do damn near everything in house now.

Pretty clear theres some supplier that screwed some minor thing up thats causing all this. And i'm sure the buyers at Jeep are pulling there hair out trying to get it resolved but some supplier, most likely overseas (and I don't mean asia) probably has some tiny quality control issue they just can't get right. These things take time, but they do get fixed. I have it on no authority, I am just speculating. But this is the most obvious answer to me. I can't believe it has anything to do with Certification that would be too easy to cure with the hammer Chrysler has. Getting something fixed or remade by another supplier on another hand (most likely fixed by the current supplier) is another story and simply takes TIME. Which is what is happening. Chrysler knows but they don't really know which is why its hush hush and the supplier is probably giving as little info to Chrysler as they can or just making stuff up because there unsure what's causing this issue.

Believe me ... You will have the same issues as everybody. Chrysler's idea of inspection is picking up burger and fries at drive through.

My sources are telling me that by accident they all filled up all those Jeeps with regular gas instead of diesel. No worries, they are working on a fix ...

Just kidding ...

Hmmm, I guess that's 700% more burgers... Which means my suspension is also getting a good workout.
