I also received a call form my dealer saying 10/11 for shipment, but, I don't believe it for a second.
I see a bunch of dates from the 10th - 19th, but not in the box that I care to.

At this rate, I think all they really did was take my cash, build a Hemi and slap some EcoDiesel stickers on and then shoved it into Inspection Hell hoping I forget about it or that it passes some deadline in fine print whereas my deposit is forfeit.
I Hope Not

I do believe the Unicorns will have Clydesdale Legs/Feet though, for the extra torque.

I was thinking we could bring our night goggles, stay until dark then go find our new rides in the big parking lot....

*grumble*
I was really happy when I got $500 bonus cash in the mail today. Then I notice it expires 10/31. No way I'm getting jeep by then.

Psh... What's a few extra ft pounds among friends? LOL!

I will likely not do a full boost... You can dial it to exactly where you want and keep it under the upper spec limit.

Well to be fair, the 700nm (HP70... get it?) Is an input specification not a tolerance. Not sure if you guys know anything about German Specifications but it can likely stand a fair bit more.

Really you would be just shortening the service life of the unit if constantly running it at slightly over max rating like that.

Anyway, either way, I wouldn't recommend exceeding the manufacturer spec.

516 ft-lb is the limit, 526 is 1.93% more. I'd bet the tranny is underrated and has a safety factor in its rating. The rating is a "normal operation" rating. They can't make a mechanical device that can destruct repeatably within 2% intentionally if the tried!

Heat buildup is the major limiting factor anyways...and 10 seconds of pedal to the metal won't create much heat. Towing up a long grade with a heavy load can be very damaging. Anyone planning to tow should do so in lower power settings or stock.

I've eaten a stock tranny with a chipped diesel so I'm pretty familiar with the subject. My current tranny in my Diesel Excursion is built to handle 1400 ft-lb. It never exceeds 180 F under ANY circumstance. The stock tranny would hit 230 F while towing.

I plan to run the BlueSpark pro+boost in the GC...if I ever get mine.

My production date was 9/7. I just got a text from my dealer saying shipping on 10/19. He doesn't usually text me unless he thinks it's significant.

Re: 2014 diesel production

BTW what does in a powertrain is usually a shock load (like a spinning tire that suddenly gets grip or terminal axle tramp and not the torque rating of the engine.

True and or shock loading, like High RPM and Drive lock with AWD. In other words don't let your kids drive your chipped CRDs.

Padgett, great info, Thank You!

Agreed. In a sudden death failure, it is a high load shock that kills it. High stall converters used in drag racing are real rough on trannies. The max torque at the tranny input shaft can be 1.5 to 2.5 times the output of the motor due to the torque multiplication in the torque converter. This only occurs while the converter has high slip under high output....when accelerating from stop. Diesel converters typically have less slip (lower stall speed) and the turbo isn't at full boost initially which eases shock stress on the tranny. Usually diesel trannies die a slow death from prolonged heat generating high torques....especially when towing.

Excursion.... stop with the slow death towing comments... that is why I am buying one and you are giving me the creeps like all these people who asked me if I was nervous leading up to my wedding.

It is one of those things, if enough people ask you the same thing over and over it starts to make you think.... do I have something to worry about?
