Heat buildup is the major limiting factor anyways...and 10 seconds of pedal to the metal won't create much heat. Towing up a long grade with a heavy load can be very damaging. Anyone planning to tow should do so in lower power settings or stock.

I've eaten a stock tranny with a chipped diesel so I'm pretty familiar with the subject. My current tranny in my Diesel Excursion is built to handle 1400 ft-lb. It never exceeds 180 F under ANY circumstance. The stock tranny would hit 230 F while towing.

I plan to run the BlueSpark pro+boost in the GC...if I ever get mine.

Yes, I have no worries about running the Bluespark Pro+Boost at setting 9. Obviously if I were to tow something I would turn it down.

It is one of those things, if enough people ask you the same thing over and over it starts to make you think.... do I have something to worry about?

Will, keep it stock or dial the tuner down and tow within limits and you'll be fine. Its the idiots that chip their trucks, put tall tires on, and hitch up a heavy trailer and run flat out up a long hill that are smoking their trannies! Don't ask me how I know this....Lol.

My wife says I learn the hard way....

I may do that if this CRD hold goes on much longer...I can't even keep up with current events....tried scanning the AM band for news....nothing but static and old timely gospel. Ugh.

Jeep is even giving their dealers the "100% inspection" BS story. Why can't they just tell the truth. Tired of the lies. Do they think we are idiots? They need to put on their big boy pants and tell the truth. If there is a delay, just tell us there is a delay, don't string us along month to month, now week to week.

Re: 2014 diesel production

So what are we all going to think when VOTs, MOTs or whatever says things are actually shipping to our dealers? Not quite sure I would believe it until my dealer told me its at their lot then I might start believing.

When MOTS says it is on a Train, Milous knows exactly what rail car it is on and where it is stopping to change cars along the way. VOTS will tell us nothing of those things. That is just one of the big reasons to be a Premium Member Level III or higher, we know when your vehicle is arriving before your dealer does.

MOTS has yet to lead me wrong, and I have tracked some vehicles for other people on here, from ramp to dealer....

Once it hits the rail car.

For the forseeable future, this will be the case. VOTS will be getting a few new tricks in the near future but MOTS will still be the quickest way to track.

Seriously, there is no way any dealer would have the brains to realise an engine was remapped or chipped.

I wouldn't go that far. The piggyback ECUs are harder to detect but if someone really wants to do the legwork, they can find the traces of it. Chips are dead easy to detect.

Hell, my dealer pointed out the Magnetti Marelli piggyback ECU for the Dart!
