OK, so the reference to post 907283 means either they're ready to ship now or they're shipping on the 11th, or both.

The 1700 ... I'm still guessing that's the number of CRDs that are ready to ship, but it could also be 5pm, which might mean 5pm today or 5pm on the 11th.

I'm going to guess "1700 CRDs ready to ship, no CARB hold" is the bottom line. And I'm going to optimistically say shipping will start by the end of the week, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

even with the government shutdown, California has the most stringent standards, so if it passes there, the EPA will sign off. Even if they are not open, it could just be a formality at this point, so I am hoping Jeep starts shipping (hopefully today or tomorrow)

Both Milous and I put the brakes on that over a week ago and have said nothing about shipping since.

This is the first sign I have seen in about 2 weeks that says it is "close".

It's also possible that the EPA isn't/wasn't holding it up and that it was just CARB. Since they're sold as "50 state legal" they might not have been legally allowed to start shipping until that was actually true. So it's possible the govt shutdown has/had nothing to do with it ...

So why didn't they start shipping after the CARB EO was signed on 10/3? Well, it's possible that the EO was signed but there was still legal paperwork that needed to be done. And/or they were trying to figure out what they needed to do to reduce or eliminate the fines before shipping (which is not necessarily incongruent with the statements earlier of "no fix needed") and confirming they could get to a "reasonable" level of fines for their cost/revenue projections before they actually started shipping them. I can imagine that as long as they knew that by X production date they'd have their fines reduced to Y dollars, they'd be OK starting shipment and paying the initial fines. But if it looked like they'd be paying these fines for an indefinite amount of time, that might have blown all of their forecasts and were reluctant to start shipping until they had a better handle on the situation.
