Re: 2014 diesel production

I PM'd all of you but I was such in SHOCK about the whole thing since I knew nothing.

THANK YOU

THANK YOU

THANK YOU!!!!!

for coming out today!!!!!!

You guys got a very... VERY rare sight. JNAP and all of their employees in action! (Well not in action but you did see them alive and in the flesh, not on some stupid Youtube video)

Sad part about it is that I didn't recognize many of the people that I work with daily because they didn't have their work clothes on! LOL.

And the little one didn't wanna leave.

That doesn't work. I can tell who is and who isn't an employee. Why?

None of us call these "WK2".

They are "WK".

... and my username is "JnapA5"... reflecting where I work and the line I *used* to work on before I got the heck OFF of it!

What a trip!!

What a fabulous day!! Weather was perfect for flying. Flew over New Boston and Woodhaven lots as well as JNAP. Met a buddy in Detroit I hadn't seen in years and had some great BBQ for lunch. Met Marlon, Chevy and Mrs. Chevy (yes, Chevy definitely married up), saw my exact CRD Summit build sitting on the floor, great tour by Chevy and watched Shannon shoot LOTS of pictures. I didn't take many pics, but here is one. L->R, Shannon, Marlon, Vtail and Brainstormer. I'm sure Shannon will be posting/uploading many more....

You had good reason. I was in shock as soon as I was on Conner. I didn't think the turnout would be so good, that Chrysler would go as far as they did...

The parking lot, PERFECT example. It was even more PACKED than a regular workday!

The entire day PERIOD was just shocking to me.

IF I knew you guys were gonna be there I'd have drug the Jeep out of the garage too.

And if anyone was wondering, YES it really *IS* that clean every day. They did NOT clean up the place JUST for the day.

Ya, I read that when Fiat took over they shut the whole plant down and had all the regular employees clean and paint the entire factory. And it stays nice and clean, that is pretty impressive.

Re: 2014 diesel production

One thing I want to add. I'm not sure if CB711 told you this, and to those who weren't there, here's some info. Heh. At 2:30, you heard 3 dings from the speakers up above. That is the notification for breaktime. The Line® stops plantwide. At 2:32, you heard a bell ring. That notification was for "Hey, there's one minute left before break is over." and 2:33, the dings started again. That was notification that break is over and it's time to go back to work!

The relatively comfortable temperature you felt, is typically like that all year long. Sometimes it can get just a wee bit hotter or colder. Of course when we're working, we can sweat sometimes in the summer, but overall, no. I have only broken a sweat when it's 100ºF+ outside and I'm learning a new job on the line.

So our breaks are only for 13 minutes, we get a few of them each day, lunch is 30 minutes.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Today, Vtail (Captain Kirk) Flew us to Detroit. We had lunch at Slow's BBQ. Met 2 of Vtial's friends, really neat guys. We met up with Brainstormer just before the tour. We all then Met Chevy and his lovely wife (she is wonderful) - you are too Chevy We also met Marlon on the tour. These guys are great, and I have never met people who take so much pride in their work. Chevy, who drives a Dodge, and works at Jeep gave us a awesome personal tour of the plant. I took a lot of pictures, and yes, I can actually say this - our unicorns are REAL. I saw them with my own eyes. When they ship is anybody's guess, but they really do exist (however, did not see any skittles).
Made new friends, and had a GREAT day!!!
Have lots of pictures to post, but have to get up early tomorrow, so I will post a few to keep the interest.

Here is where it all begins: JNAP - Jefferson North
