Thanks Milous and/or Willx - MOTS now shows my location. However I'm not sure which is more disconcerting - having "N/A" as the location or "Detroit Axle Yard". That sure sounds ominous! Couple that with the fact that I don't see anyone else listed with that location.

Hmmm... wonder if this is like Shannon's track update ... If so - well played.

You guys already know they answer to this...
I am Polish and a little slow on the uptake. However, I will venture a guess.
The update to the diagnostic tool or DealerCONNECT system is out there. However, most dealers have not upgraded it yet. Jeep is waiting to clear the hassles associated with non-tech savvy dealers upgrading their diagnostic software/tools to be over before unleashing a new engine upon them?

Re: 2014 diesel production

Also, just went from "I" to "JS". Does "JS" stand for "Jefferson Storage"? This has already been posted before. However, I must have missed it.

Nothing to do with the dealer...

Some sensor not output the right info to the ODBII sensor so they just get moved around until it does and they hope a closed plant gives it the juju it needs?

Re: 2014 diesel production

Something to do with blocking people from "chipping" the engine to emoprove proformence but put more stress on the engine. Maybe a way to track if people have done it? So they can offer that life time warenty

My guess is that they have to update Starscan to meet the CARB standards recently approved. Not sure if it is for the unicorns or the software itself?

OK, thanks! It sounded like the moral equivalent of "bone yard".

So as to what the last holdup is ... you guys seem to have implied it's related to the scanner tools, but it's nothing dealer-related and the proper/latest software is already deployed.

My first guess is that they have a minor tweak to the programming to help reduce the CARB fines, so now they have people running around with the diagnostic tools updating 2,000 vehicles.

My second guess would be that there's a minor issue with the on-board programming and it's mis-reporting its version/ID so the diagnostic tool isn't properly registering that it's the diesel. Which I guess also implies running around and making updates to 2,000 vehicles, so first and second guesses are basically the same.

My other guess would've been they had to get some type of "re-approval" after modifying for the CARB failures, but it's already been stated that there's no regulatory holdup any more, so I guess that one is out.

Last guess would be that there's a problem with the connector that's causing issues when the scan tools are connected.

Maybe after my head gets back in the game after being dismayed over being sent to the "axle yard" I'll have more guesses.

Mysterious... I'm gonna guess:

A - last minute ECU programming
B - Software update for Engine / transmission, or ???
C - a ploy to keep us distracted while they wait another day to ship our Jeeps

No good guesses, but I'm curious!
