Um, StarMobile works with WiTech.... Still in use EVERYWHERE!

Re: 2014 diesel production

I'm confused. Don't the scantools just connect to the OBII port that is of a set design for years? Or do they connect to a different port?

Yes works with WiTech but not supported on all vehicle. Granted most but not all and I said nothing about not being supported or not working with WiTech just that it's not the current generation scan tool for Chryslers.

Ok, Don't want to take this too far down the dealer tools path.... WiTech is a Diagnostic Portal that uses WiFi to talk to the Vehicles. You can use one of the various connections like a POD on a "Laptop Computer" to remotely work with a vehicle but generally speaking, a StarMobile or POD is used to connect to the WiTech Access Point to program or diagnose problems with vehicles. As the POD or StarMobile are only used as a com device, varied versions on the other end don't really matter. Think of them as a universal OBDII to either WiFi/Ethernet.

The above statement is entirely related to any hints so don't read into it too much. More just trying to describe the Scan Tools other purpose.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Scan tools know the gov required "standard" parameters and there are a lot of them. However there is a further set of "enhanced" parameters that mfrs share only with designated partners and under an NDA/PIA.

Good examples are the oil pressure and oil temperature values which are available on the EVIC but are non-standard CAN-BUS values.

Those do not come with a $5 or $50 app, you need something like the $500+ Autoenginuity tools. See http://www.autoenginuity.com/images/....html#commands

Yes there is a reason. Your jeep has probably moved several times since completed. But they don't post every move, or it would be too much work for Milous, and just drive you crazy. For example, if your door got scratched in the yard, and had to go back to paint, imagine what you would think if you saw your vehicle back in paint, when in all reality, the repair would already be made, and your Jeep back in the lot before you you read you were in paint. (or needed a upgrade of some sort, or needed a new tire, or .........) Once it is listed in a lot, you will not see a change till it is released from the factory. Then Milous and Willx will tell you where you are every step of the way once on the train. Hang in there, they should be shipping soon. Remember, Jeep stands by October in showrooms, and the month is half over.
By the way, we saw the room that our unicorns had their "100% inspection". Only a small % go there, and are in and out the same day (within hours). I think we are being told this to make us feel that there is a reason for the delay, and to make us feel like our Jeeps will be perfect when we get them.

Looked to be quite a few vehicles at New Boston. By the way, I'm told they do not drive them to New Boston, rather, truck them there, off load off site, and drive them into the yards as to keep milage down.
I would like to know where this offsite location is. The video I shot shows them getting off 2/75. There is an industrial site directly next to the shipping facility that would be perfect. The bus left and came back a half hour later. If they did use car haulers they would pull directly into the yard like all the other vehicles do.

I also have a family friend that Owens a car hauling company. They have sold all their trucks and bought passenger vans. Due to the cost of maintaining them and paying a driver. It was cheaper to hire drivers and bus them around also the customer was happier because it was faster then loading and unloading the cars.

Re: 2014 diesel production

That's awesome that you guys got to tour the plant. I have seen the plant from the outside but have never been inside. I would like to know what is the most interesting thing that you found out that you didn't know before the visit?

I hope they don't! But from what I witnessed that doesn't make sense.

Milous!!! We have a Winner here!

Shannon wants to write the MOTS FAQ section

Thanks Shannon, Vehicles moved just to get Vtail's out, so sometimes the moves are just because some cool guys managed to get a plant tour that BOTH Milous and I would have loved to go on.

BTW you guys do rock.

Shannon, that's for the reply. Totally makes sense when you read it haha. I agree I wouldn't be happy if I saw it go back to paint!
