Heh heh heh... you should hear my dealer bitch about that.

They are having a hell of a time getting Durangos (especially Citadels), and can't get any of the Cherokee or CRD's that they have presold.

The guy is going ballistic. :P

Diesel is a beast.

To get a feel for it, go take a ML350 BlueTech, or VW Touareg TDI out for a spin.

They are especially fun on Mountain passes where naturally aspirated engines lose so much power and gassers strain to maintain speed.

If you consider guts to be torque which is raw grunt, the CRD won't disappoint. The power is where you want it...in the normal operating range, not at higher RPMs with downshifting.

What happened? I am very happy for you that you had a great trip. I am especially very appreciative of the stories and the loads of pictures. There was a great transformation. Are you allowed to share any secret knowledge?

Re: 2014 diesel production

Our 2008 WK doesn't even downshift on the mountain passes. Even some big hills here around town required our other vehicles to at least drop out of overdrive or even down a gear.

Plus, your gas mileage doesn't drop like a rock when you press hard on the gas pedal like a V-8 does.

Most of the CRDs located in Java Yard or Detroit Axle Yard have been recently updated for whatever reason. Some have multiple updates. But most updates are range from 5-7 days apart.

Virtually all of the CRDs located in the Charlevoix Yard have no updates once they landed there. Most of these date back to original builds in late Aug through September.

Are these updates related to the potential tweaks needed for shipment?

Will the units at Charlevoix go through similar updates?

Comments?

Only ship them where I don't have to take it back to the dealership. Get this perfect because I want the best that can be made (which the JGC is). Thanks to the hard working guys and gals at JNAP and JG for all the insight and help. Getting excited
