Sorry, mine was the FIRST garage members CRD off the line with a build date of 8/28. Yours should be slightly behind mine. Doesn't matter anyway, I think they will all be released within a day or two or each other.

It is great that you two share what you can, and we really appreciate it. No one wants you to get in trouble, because with out you, we don't get our unicorns. Again, hats off to you two

Re: engine chipping/mapping

I am coming out of an Audi that I had mapped through APR, a high-and German car tuner company. Yes, the tune was initially exciting to have, and a thrill to know that I was driving something "special." However, it's been stressful every time I take it to the dealer. I had a fouled injector as well as a failed coil on separate occasions. For each of them the dealer had to send my engine's data file to Audi to keep on record . If course, they saw the mapping and my car is now "flagged." The dealer and I found this out after they later replaced the coil, so they covered that repair - luckily.

My point is that with a mapped engine, even mundane issues turn into voided warranties. While the mapping probably won't cause your engine to fail, stuff goes wrong and you suddenly have an unpredictable liability on your hands. The stress is annoying too - I wasn't able to enjoy my mapped engine because I was afraid to push it hard.

Anyway, have fun.

I plan to keep my unicorn for a long time. I'm even considering buying the extended warranty. I don't think the chip is worth the potential troubles it may cause.

Chevy, my statement was partially in jest (as in there is a small amount of truth in the untruth).

I was also referring to something specific with loose trim that I did see as a hold. I will have to do better at identifying how I write that.

Thx,

Shannon, same here. It matters not to me as long as they SHIP. If you read what I said, yours was first into Inspection, mine was FIRST out the door to JS on 9/6. All that extra paint on yours needed more inspection!

AMR's ride went to the yard along with yours on 9/7.

Its fun tracking our rides but looks like it won't matter since they're all being held.

I would definitely recommend a k&n I put one on my 335d with a noticeable difference and it didnt thow any codes! That will be my first change whenever they make one for it ive looked and nothing yet.

Most K&N filters flow more air because they filter less. If you operate your CRD in a dusty environment, I'd skip the K&N option.

Turbo Diesels breath much deeper than gas motors and a good intake helps but clean air is more important. An oversized filter designed for a larger engine will allow more flow without compromising filtration. I use a huge tractor truck filter on my Powerstroke. It has 400% more surface area than stock.

Re: 2014 diesel production

The government has re-opened. Maybe not functioning but re-opened. Time to ship our CRDs.

With all the paint, they still can't get it out the door. They are enlarging the door as we speak. Actually, Mine hit the yard on 9/1 Just not updated on MOTS.
