Nah...he's a Wankal Rotary Engine fan. Too bad they don't make a turbo rotary diesel! High compression and rotary apex seals are probably a bad idea.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Nope, not a heli guy, I have had several Mazda's in the past (my first car was an 84 Rx7) so it is for rotary engines. Thanks for the welcome.

I agree that the rotary is addictive...too bad it lacks in torque.

I love my boxer engine...I know I can get more HP/Tq by putting equal length headers but the unequal length headers give it the boxer rumble I love.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Yeah that is always been the achiles of the wankel, no torque. The turbo 7 helped alot, but it was way too unreliable and of course mpg are terrible. Kind of the reason I am looking at the diesels, torque and mpg's. Not to mention all the tech and a nice looking SUV all packaged into one at a steal considering everthing you get (I would be getting a White Summit EcoDiesel if I decide to order one).

Well if not Heli's then I guess a wankel rotor head is the next best thing....

You have all been great entertainment, but I would rather by driving my new jeep!

Sold my old car a little sooner than expected and the gas mileage of my monster ZJ is hitting the pocketbook hard

This

Solely putting miles on my Subaru hurts me. Commuting is not its forte.

Hey me too!! I get it, the dealer review I did today was a hundred miles each way. A Durango with a hemi is not exactly a commuter car either.

Ridiculous to give awards for vehicles not yet available to buying public.

I don't see any reason why they should have to wait to award it. It has absolutely no bearing on their opinion.

But they are driving pilots, not stock cars. Don't get me wrong, I think the JGC is deserving, but let's get some real world opinions on those diesels.
