Re: 2014 diesel production

I know, you know something...but given your position...that information is probably 'proprietary' ...and not for general release.

I find it VERY hard to believe they told him that.. Looks like he just edited the reply they sent Chivvalry.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Might not even be a delay. Isn't this the reason so many manufacturers DON'T offer diesel here? It's poor uptake on the part of the consumer plus the cost of going through the process and time of getting it certified?

I am told it's a time-consuming, complex process and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it had nothing to do with the vehicle passing or not, but was just a matter of bureaucracy getting in the way.

Of course, I could be wrong...

And in every company I worked for, not having a product never stopped Sales & Marketing from trying to sell it. "We'll figure that part out later..."

"You sold WHAT? And you didn't think to ASK us first when it would be ready??"

OK. Well, that's what they told me. So, if it's not true I trust them even less. That's even worse than what's already going on.

I might jump ship completely.

If anyone wants me to email them a copy of the official email let me know by PM and I'll send it.

The only part I edited was

I took out the beginning crap about "thank you for your interest blah blah blah... I bolded and colored the part about the emissions (the part in red) so that it would be easy for people to see. I also did not add in the last paragraph of the email because it was getting long & full of fluff. So, the unedited email is found below here:

Re: 2014 diesel production

Hey man, my bad.. You say they told you that, then that's what they told you.. Not trying to call you a liar or anything.. You just have a history of joking all the time on here, so I just assumed you were f'n around as usual.

Again, I apologize.. But take that Mark dude's reply with a grain of salt.. It's kind of a political response. It doesn't really lie, but it's not really true.

Re: 2014 diesel production

^
I can't blame you for thinking I was goofin', but playtime is over now that they are screwin' with me/us. That Marlon guy that told me that should be fired immediately!

Here's my viewpoint on quality control and damage control. They should be upfront with those of us who are asking for answers. They should simply say here's the deal, for example if it is a transmission issue. We're not completely happy with the combo settings on the transmission with the diesel so we are doing more testing to make things right before we release it to the public. It's more cost effective this way & less customers who actually buy will be less disappointed or hassled with having to bring their trucks in for warranty service.

It's kind of like how our gov't doesn't tell us really what's going on alot of the time b/c it'll make them look incompetent.

I'm sure that makes sense to you as you seem to be a common sense type of guy.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Absolutely.. That's why I try to be straight with you guys, when I can, whether its something you're gonna want to hear or not.. I've never been a fan or people playing games with me, but considering the situation, it's hard to say what I'd do.

Personally, I'm not much of a patriot in the traditional sense.. I don't buy stuff that's "Made in America" bc of the assumed premise that this is such a great country and blah blah blah.. But rather bc I support my fellow man, and the hard working PEOPLE of this country. As for the govt., well I'm pretty much in line with Will McAvoy on The Newsroom..

So if I were in you guys' shoes, it'd be hard to just bail and buy sumn from across the pond, but at the same time, Jeep shouldn't take my (your) "patriotism" for granted.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I haven't seen a Jeep ad that said the diesel is available. When they do, hopefully they will be available.

I find it incredible that anyone thinks a company owes them an explanation of anything, unless it was specifically about a car they already ordered.

I'm sure when they have the vehicles ready for sale they will let the public know. Calling or emailing them just wastes the time of the customer service reps. No wonder they are so cranky when Jeep owners with real problems call them.

You are definitely entitled to your thoughts however I respectfully disagree.
I doubt you run your own business or deal directly with customers/clients because I think you would miss the mark on customer service. Excluding this site for our information many of us have been told by multiple dealerships on multiple occasions that the diesel is expected in the 1)early spring 2)June on the lots for test driving without any type of explanation. If we're a potential customer deciding on a significant investment we are absolutely justified in wanting to know WTF. As long as we're not being d-bags, it's their job to answer our questions. That's why they work in the customer service department. Maybe they should rename it to the customer dis-service department if they don't want to help us out.
