Re: 2014 diesel production

I wish they made a CRD version that had...

* every option that the Summit has
* the rock chip-resisstant black cladding on the front and rear fascias and wheel arches like the Limited has
* the ORA II package
* the Trailhawk II rock rails
* some Wrangler SilentArmor tires on an 18" version of the Overland 20" wheel.
* full LED brake, signal, backup lights
* an unlocked 4G LTE radio, instead of the Sprint-only 3G

That would be my ideal Jeep.

Route 66 is a splendid one to behold
Willx - I do plan on towing and some road trips. I can't wait to share the towing experiences and mileage. However, it probably won't be until May or June before I have some real towing experiences with this Jeep.

Dome - I do plan on some off roading but not as heavy duty as your pictures! Would like to go on some front range trails and around Ouray and Moab. Maybe I'll see you around there! Looks more like Halloween to Veteran's Day now for delivery. If before Halloween, that would be a treat! Otherwise, it'll be a trick.

Just wish we had more areas in Minnesota to go off road. Have to go to Northern MN for trails, none near the twin cities (that I am aware of).
In Oz one needs the ORAII just to drive some of our outback roads let alone going off-road.

Same in North Idaho. My new WK2 is my 99 TJ replacement for getting to town and back year round.

Re: 2014 diesel production

My need parallel a lot of members here. Very unlikely to take this off road except out west in the summer and very likely to be in deep super soft sand in Florida where you get stuck without a goor 4wd. Other than that I am one that wants the adaptive cruise control (because I have one now and it is excellent) and nav with diesel. Other than that I would be thrilled to have cloth seats and std stuff...

Re: 2014 diesel production

A little JGC Diesel offroading teaser :

Jeep grand cherokee 2014 ... off-road driving test - YouTube

Question..What the heck is that color on the first JGC they show!?!? It almost looks like an OD Green... I WANT!!! I am guessing this is only offered in Europe (where I am assuming this video was made)? I dont see it on the Jeep website anywhere.

JGC seemed to handle just about everything on that course with ease!

Edit: I've watched this video about 10 times over again... that OD Green Diesel with the nice Diesel chatter is awesome! If I ever need to repaint this thing down the road my Maximum Steel Metallic is going to turn OD green in a hurry! Does anyone know if we can expect this level of "noise" from ours? I sure hope so...

Re: 2014 diesel production

Did I see a winch mounted on the front of the Green Jeep?!

Re: 2014 diesel production

There was a green listed early on but it got pulled. Near as I can tell so did "Mango Tango".

Unfortunately they priced the diesel out of contention for people who just want it for long trips and towing heavy things. Expect many will sport "my other car is a Prius" stickers soon.
