Re: 2014 diesel production

It's funny watching this thread, only about 10% is discussing the diesel and the rest everything from pork anal meat to lug nut torque. Some bored people waiting.

Boy, that was sure a far stretch. If you notice, I said Why would anyone buy a Jeep WITH AN OFF ROAD PACKAGE and not go off road??? I understand people buying jeeps for inclement weather, but there would be no need for an off road package in these situations. Off road package implies just that - off road.
I do own guns, and I very much enjoy target shooting. I do not kill, I do not hunt. I do believe in protecting my family if our lives are in danger.

2014 diesel production

Improve articulation. It would be better to not have QL, which reduces articulation in Rock mode, but instead have a modest factory lift and improve the amount of travel. Also allow for bigger tires. At least have the option.
Don't forget.... put the front ELSD back!

Pretty please?

Re: 2014 diesel production

We all know what a skittle farting Unicorn is, and I realized my Unicorn Jeep was a diesel JGC with the Rubicon drivetrain.
That means I am waiting on a RUBICORN, wish me luck

Rumors suggest there is likely a Rubicorn* coming, the big questions is how long.

* Well, diesel Wangler which means diesel Rubicon Unlimited, which would be close enough in my book.

To be sure of the torque required I looked in the latest Edition of the Owner's Manual: http://www.jeep.com/download/pdf/man...kee-OM-5th.pdf The manual shows a torque of 130 Ft/LBS on page 538(540 of the PDF). I thought, this sounds high. The previous edition (4th) shows 110 ft/lbs. The standard recommendation for Torque for 14mm Studs is 130. 130 N-M which is 95 ft/lbs. (Standard being the WTC(Wheel and Tire Council) and others. So did Fiat(Metric) tell Detroit(U.S) the Torque should be 130 meaning 130 N-M or 95 ft/lbs but understood by Detroit as 130 ft/lbs or 176 N-M? Everyone I have talked with in the industry says 130 ft/lbs is not right. Why did they, in the past several weeks change this in the manual to 130 ft/lbs?
I've never seen a torque over 95 ft-lbs on any car/suv. 130 seems very excessive.

Why would I support Jeep on this? They gave him a lemon, and then kept brushing him off for weeks, and then a month and did nothing about their sorry $55,000 product they sold him.

Some of these left turns are into traffic..I'm choosing not to turn! Staying the course and knowing what is at the end of the rainbow. I know many others are doing the same...Still among friends!
