Re: 2014 diesel production

Well thanks anyway guys I'll figure this out. Maybe when I stop in a rest area to sleep I'll just put a light brick on the gas or a long stick between the gas peddle and the seat and just adjust the seat back and forward for pressure.

It should remote start into a high idle condition to warm the motor. It takes an idling diesel a while to cool down but it can. Truckers sleep with the engine running. Ever wonder why they have the zip up cover in front of their radiators?

Sleeping in a running gasser is very dangerous! Carbon Monoxide can kill you. Not an issue in a diesel. Sleeping in a running diesel is like being held in a warm embrace.

Would a block heater help?

When near a receptacle, yes. When napping on the road, an engine blanket or cardboard over the radiator might reduce heat loss in the motor. The issue is that a diesel is so efficient at idle, it doesn't create enough heat to maintain operating temps, especially in the winter with the cabin heater on. In the summer with the AC running, it may not be an issue.

Spotted this granite limited unicorn at lunch this afternoon. Couldn't get a great picture with the rain and having to shift. It was actually quieter than the old wk Benz CRD.

Good job! I wish those were the Rep's drive out demos leaving. We need you to camp out at HQ and let us know when the Reps go home driving SFU's.
