Re: 2014 diesel production

I can't say I know how it will go here but I've owned several diesels and always done better than expected based on the rated numbers. My last truck for instance actually had an average mileage that was higher than its rated highway mileage. That's doing the math at the pumps, not reading the bullshitometer aka tip computer. On the other hand with gas cars I have never come even close to the rated numbers usually having an average economy near the city numbers. Again, doing the math at the pump. Obviously mileage varies but when you talk to owners of diesel vehicles you tend to hear what I described often.

Back to Chevy's point, this is like trying to report a natural disaster.

Yes the ~27 was a recent number the last week of so.

Everything else is moment to moment, I you read the rest of my earlier post I said we are flying blind. I am almost pleased that Chevy is experiencing the exact same issues that he is getting conflicting stories.

I answered as clearly as I could but I am very pleased to see Chevy can confirm the confusion.

There is one thing that has not been confirmed.... a further actual delay. So hopefully we know more soon.

As for the mileage comparisons BTW. One factor I know for sure. Your mileage goes in the toilet above 70 and you also don't have that same impact in the diesel. Besides that Not actually needing to stop for fuel in 700 miles now that is priceless.

Sounds to me what they are doing to you all is just a Jeep thing. Over here in AU, we had boat load after boat load arrive, and they held them until their "official release". You will find that they probably want to release them on Halloween or something. Blame the marketing department.

Re: 2014 diesel production

New to this forum. I've been searching for any news as to why my 2014 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Limited 4x4 which I ordered on August 24th has had its ship date rescheduled three times since being built. Latest estimated ship date is October 25th, but I'm not holding my breath. Great job by all the sleuths on here as to what could be causing the delay as my dealer has been clueless.

Not quite. We had ours sitting in the driveway two weeks prior to 'official' release. We did have to hide it though from prying eyes. If you gave me money, I would let you see it - if you gave me more, I would even let you sit in it.

On a more serious note, I'm sorry that you guys haven't taken delivery. Everyday I click on this thread hoping for the first delivery news.

And I'm sorry Shannon - Have quaffed the bottle that was on ice. Couldn't wait...

This...snow just north of me in the next day or so....this does not help me get a nice polish, sealant, and wax on before the massive flurry of salt on the roads.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I almost want to go back and re-negotiate a price for JGC since it's taking forever. But I know it's not the dealers fault and all I'd be doing is taking money away from them and they have tried to help. This whole situation is starting to get way out of hand when people at JNAP and Jeep can't even get what's going on right between each other.

No, the last few normal production days were around 26-29 per day.

So all they have been / are producing is 25-30 diesel units per day?
That seems kind of low. How many gas units?

You would need to read backwards for the entire story.... I think at one point they built in excess of 200 in one day The current production average over the last few days has been pretty low. But that doesn't mean anything. Those numbers change based on so many factors it is impossible to cover them all.
