If they discovered that "recalibration" = 180hp is required to pass CARB and they are now detuning all the NAFTA CRDs....ugh. This jibes with the info on VM's website.

I received an email from what I consider to be a reliable source. Here is an excerpt:

"We are awaiting clearance from the homologating body which is now expected on October 25th. This is needed prior to shipment of your car. "

So, it looks like we'll know something on Monday, unless they load and ship over the weekend.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Only homologating body I know is the FIA and they are French (and Pontiac GTO meant "Get Those Orders" not "Garbage Truck Option" ).

BTW if you want a comedy of errors see the 1973 Pontiac/EPA issue and why the engines changed color & the SD Grand Prixs were never sold.

Thanks Gary, good reality check. I am excited for and eagerly awaiting this new vehicle I've been looking at for almost 2 years now... But having to wait for this... First world problems for sure.

Doesn't mean I'm not checking this thread 10x a day... Just need to keep perspective

Talk about First World Problems - I'm buying mine for business use...so I want to get '13 delivery for tax reasons....but still....kind of important.

For Milous/Willx:
Spent the last month since my horned horse went to final inspection rebuliding my brick front steps and wood railings which came apart due to ice buildup. Been lurking here all along. I need to know if I should find another honeydo project to hold me over and if so, how big a project should it be?

I've said this quite a few times now... Someone at Jeep (outside JNAP) in engineering, systems, or on business/marketing side (or combination of all 3) dropped ball and majorly screwed up. These sorts of delays just aren't common and this really does smear their rep a little in the industry. If they worked through the design process successfully the issue wouldn't have appeared or they would have been resolved prior to opening their mouths about when the release would be.

In the big scheme of things you are of course right. However my sister-in-law's car went belly up a couple weeks ago and she was planning on buying my Murano when my jeep arrives. So for now she is borrowing my father-in-law's car until I get my jeep then she can get her "new" car. So for me it's not such a big deal except I've been waiting over a year, but for her it is affecting her daily transportation needs.
