It is a plastic shortage. They don't have enough to cover the footwells prior to shipment. They are looking into plastic derivatives and alternates and even aluminum foil.

Or, the steering wheels where left hand drive but were calibrated for right hand drive.

Or, the exhaust was flipped and was upside down.

Out of muffler bearings.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Hmm...newer builds going KZ before older ones. Since the mad rush of builds was right around the end of September, is there a approximate build date which would separate the two?

Q7 I can see but Yukon? 2006 tech that was just a refresh of the 2002 tech? I am not even sure they have auto windshield wipers any more (been severely decontented in recent years)

Drove a 2014 Cadillac Escalade Platinum for a week... not worth even comparing. At least with the Q you will be in this decade for tech and quality.

Good point. I rented a Suburban a couple of months ago (the fully loaded version, but with the 5.3L) and was fairly happy with the level of trim...just found the 5.3L lacking. That's what I was looking that direction (with the bigger power plant).

I am having a heck of a time...and I suspect will keep having... finding anything else that fits what I need.

I need: 1) Towing of at-least 5K lbs...but really would rather have more because I actually tow up to about 5k fairly often 2) decent 4wd 3) Ideally would not be a full size truck so I can fit it in my two car garage with The Wife's Honda Odyssey without beating up the doors on both

My '06 Pathfinder (towing cap 6,000lbs, with good AT tires gets it done easily for my needs in 4WD, fairly narrow) has been great.... but the new ones have been neutered and I'm ready for something different.

The statement of newer builds shipping before older ones completely makes sense because.... Well because it doesn't make sense. This seems to be the way things have been going with this whole release.

Yeah I guess this means that if the plant ever shuts down they might get back to shipping my Sep 6th built truck....because apparently there are a BUNCH of newer builds they give more of a crap about.

Honestly if you want something that can tow 7200 pounds and do it very well and you are considering gas engines just look at a Grand Cherokee Hemi. I am in exactly the same pickle as you but I have avoided switching to the hemi a number of times hanging on for the diesel but when I did try the hemi I was very impressed.

I tow with my Durango all of the time. But I have to say the Grand Cherokee with that new 8 speed transmission is a night and day difference. Try comparing that to that old 6-speed that they run in the Denali and the the Escalade and I think you'll find the Jeep simply tows better.

Anyway I still have a Chevy in the driveway at home and I guess I'm not embarrassed mention that I usually just trying to find what's best suited for the job.

That actually makes sense to me. The older builds are buried in the lots. The newer builds are on the outsides of the lots and easier to get to. They also have the newer UConnect programming...... What? UConnect was the hold up (lol)

Even though I am in the same boat as everyone else, I would encourage you guys to hang in there. We made it this far. Its the home stretch. AMR, our builds are on the same day...first ones in the yard. We are probably blocked in until they can move some around.
