Hey, guys, sorry for off topic. Promise I'll let you guys keep talking about the unicorns.
That's Okay! The Porche is also a unicorn! Its a Big Pink one with a poodle haircut that is afraid of dirt. But its still part of the family.

Any one here that did their comparison shopping certainly looked at all the other diesel SUVs. I'd love a cayenne, but it doesn't fit my monthly payment criteria, and wouldn't be able to go places like Schofield pass/Devil's punchbowl without hefty repair bills. That's why I got a Jeep (Trail Rated), but if you don;t need trail capability the Porche would be super sweet.

I don't see a sticker on the door in the photo where vtail is kissing the back of a CRD. But if the sticker is normally on the door jamb, that wouldn't mean anything ...
My hunch is this is the issue. Went back to the high res photo of the silver one (the one seen after Jerry kissing his baby), and I do not see any stickers on the drivers door. Time will tell.

Does this align with waiting for a "homologating body" mentioned earlier?

Re: 2014 diesel production

Here is a higher res photo (site won't let me put a higher res photo, but trust me - no sticker seen on original photo). No stickers seen. - you have to zoom in, but you can see the area where the stickers should go.

That was actually part of the "equation" I was using.

I was looking for:
- something that would be "simple and obvious", so probably something common to most vehicles and could be seen
- something that would be specific to the diesels
- something that might have to do with a "homologating body" which would imply some decision making and/or approval
- something that might cause later builds to go KZ first

The federal safety sticker is common to all vehicles and can be seen, but might not be available/affixed to CRDs yet. It might need to wait for a final decision (the homologating body) before it can be affixed. Later builds might be closer to the plant, so might get the stickers first. So it theoretically could match all of the information we've been given so far.

The other thing I found interesting was this, which comes from a Chrysler document:

"Homologation, Refers to European equivalent to U.S. Federal Safety Standards"

https://cda.extra.chrysler.com/mpe/f...479CS11000.pdf

Re: 2014 diesel production

Someone said they just raised the price a couple of hundred or something I think I read so maybe that's why no stickers on the windows until they get the price increases right. So just hold off on shipping until they are all priced correctly indicating the new increases.

Like I said, last night, I was sound asleep, woke up in the middle of the night and it came to me. I actually got out of bed, made the post, and went back to bed, because I didn't want to forget. The obsession continues.

If I recall correctly, those price increases were not diesel-specific, so if that was the issue they wouldn't be shipping non-CRD JGCs either. Plus someone already said that the window labels are printed in the plant. It wouldn't take this long to update those window stickers. That also wouldn't fit with the "homologating body decision on 10/25".
