Not Physical work... more like updating, and yes that was a little while ago.

Other than of course my wheel fender trim, thank you to whoever dealt with that.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I'll explain what I can a lil later.. And no it's not the fluid itself.

But in the meantime, can I ask a favor of you guys? No, I'm BEGGING you guys - PLEASE stop putting on every flippin post!!! I have OCD and when I see that where it definitely doesn't apply, it makes my head hurt. It's like nails on a chalkboard. Not trying to censor ppl's posts, but I don't ask for much.

Q. When will DEF freeze ? A. This 32.5% solution will begin to freeze at 12 deg F (-11 deg C). At 32.5%, both the urea and water will freeze at the same rate, ensuring that as it thaws, the fluid does not become diluted, or over concentrated. Unthawing will not cause harm to the product.

We get ya, small price to pay for good clean advice...

To anyone else, if you post those things unnecessarily in a post here in diesel land, I will ban you for a week

Only related to some vehicles, I know mine was fixed at some point (maybe during the 1000% inspection). Don't worry no changes just i think an update to something in production at some point and I believe it affected more than the diesel.

I recall reading in the manual somewhere that there is a heater for the urea tank. I imagine that could eventually drain the battery, or maybe the tank can freeze and then the heater turns on when you start the car and thaws the urea?

There is a heater and sensor(s). The vehicle should run without DEF in below DEF freezing weather, at least until the DEF dethaws. There are also NOx and perhaps Oxygen sensors on the SCR which is like a catalytic converter. All of these are related to the DEF.

A clue was given by Chevy for an "authorization number" earlier. It looks like a part number or reference number....probably related to the backordered or defective part in question.

Page 45 of the diesel supplement owners manual says there are "electronically heated DEF lines"
