Quick question for those in the know - my local dealer has a Summit 4x4 diesel on order that has everything I'm looking for but the engine block heater. Can that be added at the dealer, and if it can is it a good idea? It would be much faster to put my name on it than start with a new order (it was originally ordered 8/9).

Thanks

The heater is just a $90 cord from the dealer. Heater element is preinstalled.

I believe all the diesels have the block heater installed. What you're actually buying is the cord...and the dealer should be able to put that in with no issues at all.

We've been told all CRD's have the heater element. The option is for the chord. It can be added after delivery. Put your name on that Summit if you can get a good deal ironed out.

Re: 2014 diesel production

The dealer can add it. You might be able to as well, though routing it through the engine bay may be challenging from what I hear.

Re: 2014 diesel production

nautiboy: My delivery date is estimated as 11/11. Based on other ship times to Benicia, my estimate is that this means the train is leaving Wednesday night to Friday morning this week. You still have plenty of time to jump on the train!

I used USAA to pre-negotiate the deal for my Summit 4x4 CRD. When I arrived the dealer took me around showing me the color choices (exterior and interior). After we confirmed what we preagreed to was what we wanted he pulled an Overland Hemi up and told us to check it out for power comparison. Had a good experience so far. Looking forward to delivery. Congrats to everyone so far. The train is fully in the tunnel now.

As near as I can tell, I am waiting for a train...We could very well be traveling together. I have a delivery date 11/11 for the moment. All I know is we are much closer than we were in early August. We will get there...Post when you get yours...You may be earlier as I have a longer truck ride. Plus my dealer said they can wait as long as a week for a truck to come north. Either way they are coming!!!
