Re: 2014 diesel production

I've been lurking for a while, as I never saw myself as an SUV person until I drove a 14 Summit Hemi. We were shopping for my wife, who ultimately bought a 13 Durango Citadel Hemi, loaded. Nice vehicle. I drove the GC on a whim, and was thoroughly impressed. I never thought I would like an SUV that much. However, my wife "needed" a third row of seats and has been very pleased with her Durango. I drive too many miles to warrant purchasing a Hemi for myself.

I am on my 7th BMW 3 series and currently drive an 11 335d. The 335d is the first diesel car I've owned, although I have driven them for years during my trips to Europe. It has sold me on diesel torque and fuel mileage. My 335d has 67K miles and has experienced ZERO power train issues. I have only replaced an iDrive screen and a sat radio module, both under warranty. I change the oil every 8k miles w/ high quality synthetic and change the fuel filter every third oil change, per BMW's recommendation. I am a believer in changing fluids routinely. Do that, and most cars will last a long time. I am just at the mileage where some people in the 335d community have experience intake clogging issues. I don't believe I will experience that issue because most of my miles are highway and the engine gets to breath better at higher RPM, 2000 rpm @ 80 mph.

So, back to the GC. Since I am now sold on the GC, but need the torque and mileage of a diesel, I have been following this thread since April, eagerly awaiting delivery and reviews of what I hope to be my next vehicle purchase. Either a Summit or Overland, 4x4, Ecodiesel. I followed the highs and lows while you guys await your SFU's, and am about as excited as you are to see them moving. I am now looking forward to reviews and pics of your experiences. I am even more interested in finally getting one at a dealership that I can drive.

Cheers.

If you become a Premium Member Level 3 or Higher (Level 4 gets Build sheet), you likely would have been aware of your release status days ago. Plus, you would actually be able to track it to the dealer in the 2014 Jeep Tracking Thread!
