Oh man. What other stuff should I tell them NOT to do? I already told my dealer that I didn't want their shitty self-advertising decals/badges, etc.

LOL, I would have to be on my deathbed not to go get my SFU as soon as it shows up at the dealership. I have already prepped my boss and my team that once it hits the dealer I'm off the next day no matter what is on the schedule... (of course my luck it will be a board meeting and that "no matter what" will get changed in a hurry...).

My wife keeps telling me to rent a car... since I will have to rent one to go get it (or fly) it's probably not a bad idea. I'm just a cheap bastard and don't want to spend the money when I have a perfectly good motorcycle available.

Re: 2014 diesel production

For those of you with your ecodiesels out of inspection, when did you place your order?

Mine began production on Oct 1st and it hasn't moved into the shipment phase according to to VOTS. Anticipation....

I see what he's talking about. It's not that he's saying the Hemi is better than the Diesel, he's saying Jeep rated them BOTH at the same towing capabilities.

I don't think he's saying that "It doesn't matter on towing if you pick the Diesel or the Hemi" rather, he's saying (poorly) that they both are setup to tow the same amount.

He *should* have expanded on that to say that while they both offer the same towing capabilities, the advantage goes to the diesel in both handling, and fuel economy when towing.

HA...perfectly reasonable explanation. I've been looking at my delivery date and trying to figure if I should just take that next day off now or call in sick when I get offical word for the dealer it's ready...oh who am kidding, I'll probably be camped out there in the back of my truck when I see it hits truck for delivery to dealership. hmm, wonder what it costs to rent an RV for a couple days???

Hardcore Cheap Biker solution:

Ride your bike down, buy a trailer and tow it back. You get a "free" trailer with the savings!...or rent one if you have a trailer already.

"Standard RV" (sleeps 5) for three nights rented from Pittsburgh is $357.

I have totally considered this... but you're not supposed to tow for the first x hundred miles I thought?

So swap it around.

Toss the Jeep on the trailer, hook up your bike and just... ya know... crawl it home.

I would think towing a 6x8 utility trailer with an 800lb bike on it wouldn't be considered towing. The wind drag would be next to nothing. I'd do it. Just vary your speed and/or gear to let the motor operate at different rpm's....although technically there is no "break in" from what I've heard.
