VOTS shows me in shipment as well! Diesels being pulled by a Diesel to Colorado. They will get the Rocky Mountain High - altitude that is.

Are you in CO too? I saw one headed to Brighton, and 2 headed to C.Springs. This is a perfect Colorado car. I'm the Silverthorne one. However, I know there are 1-2 more headed to Silverthorne at some point too, so those numbers might have just been for JG members. There will likely be more EcoDiesels than that running around the mountains

Hate to be a party pooper BUT when VOTS shows shipment it means "staged for shipment" hence the advent of MOTS so you can actually see what is going on.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I actually have one of these contraptions...

UndertakerMTS - Motorcycle Trailers, trailer, bike

But, frankly, don't really trust it.

The hitch carriers that can handle the around 640 lbs wet weight on my bike come really close to, and over, exceeding the max tongue weight of 740 lbs when combined as they tend to weigh around 110-120 lbs.

I do not yet have a trailer for the bike so maybe it is worthwhile looking at having one waiting for me down there and just towing the bike back. I will have to look at it again. I had abandoned the idea due to hearing a warning somewhere (I think in the user manual) about not towing for the first few hundred miles.

Hmmm... I can rent a 5x9 uhaul trailer for less than $100.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Quick question - my local deal ordered a Summit 4x4 diesel on 8/9 - I just talked with him and he checked this morning and it is in D1 status. It has not been sold, so no customer name on it.

If I place a brand new order today, what type of timeframe difference can I expect between the local dealer's build in D1 status, and a brand new order?

Thanks!

Re: 2014 diesel production

A week or two I'd guess.

Chevy, Will, Milous could speak more to that though, but it seems like things are moving pretty quick now (a lot of us were stuck in Scheduled and D1 for a month or more).

The Dealer D1 is probably 4-6 weeks out, the new order would be 6-8.

Also keep in mind, you can have a dealer kid nap a non-sold order in transit and have it shifted (with in a few hundred miles usually, nothing too extreme).

Excellent - I thought that might be the case regarding the differences in time.

Guess it is time to order!

Re: 2014 diesel production

Okay - wife has a question about the rear seat entertainment system...

I know it is currently "late availability", and from searching the forums there was a post from early Sept stating that ordering for it might be pushed back to mid November.

Is there any further update on this? If we can order it and not be delayed by more than 2 weeks over a normal order I think she wants to consider it...

Thanks!

I believe it will not even show up as orderable until the November 18th availability.

Many have brought up that it would be cheaper to get 2 iPads(or the like) and you can take them with you if you want.

Buddy, the weights you are talking about would be exceeded by having 3 of the "Epic Meal Time" guys in your truck with you. I don't think it says don't let fat people in your car during the break in.

I think Excursion said it, you have nothing to worry about towing 1000# and low wind resistance.
