....unfortunately is being pushed back to the 3rd quarter. From an excellent source. Sorry folks

I am in paint, yay. IAMJEEP told me a ship date of today. Build started this morning. Could happen. Maybe everyone ships today. Here's hoping for some good news.

Its early winter of 2013, the 2014 Hemi orders are already being taken, we are all anticipating the possibility of a March then April then May CRD order date only to have our hopes dashed time and time again. Suddenly, we are transported to late September 2013, everyone who waited for the CRD is either build pending delivery, in some stage of build, or at least in D1 scheduled for build. We are not in such a bad place.

No one knows, because Jeep has not yet released the Diesels. We are hoping for October, but then again, we hoped for March, April, May, June, July, August, and September. At least this month, they have been building them, so I am a little more optimistic they will arrive in October.

So I have an interesting question to ask...

This diesel thread has probably had more access to more information on the moment to moment happenings with your builds than probably the great majority of prior JeepGarage Members.... Stuff like the Meaning of JS and where your vehicles are and actually when they were traveling down the line.

Do you think that has been a help or a hindrance? I guess I am asking if feeding all of your anxiety about what is happening now and or possibly next, has that made this experience better or worse for you...?

I thought about this the other day, that maybe being in the dark like the rest of the world, not knowing my vehicle actually completed inspection and or maybe even knowing it was built may have been good.

So is Ignorance bliss, or is MOTS that high that just keeps you running until that truck arrives at your dealer?

Opinions please!

Thanks
Will,

I like more info. The issue here is most of us have been waiting up to 9 months for this. This is highly unusual having to wait so long for a vehicle.

Knowledge is power... The fact this is even possible has made me a much bigger jeep fan as of recent! I have been a GM guy my whole life (even worked there a short bit of time) and this site and insider info has helped me tremendously with getting to the absolutely obsessed state I am now in.

Personally, the information I've been exposed to on this site during the long, long, LONG wait for my new skittle and rainbow farting unicorn has simply fed my obsession for my new toy. I find it ironic that the "gestation period" for my new unicorn is closely matching the gestation periods for my kids.

Being able to watch the events unfold over the last 10 months as this new vehicle has been hinted at, built, revealed, tested, rolled out... it's been great.

NOW GIVE ME MY DAMN JEEP!!!!

LOL....yes, yes...lately I have to carry my wall charger in my pocket!

As for the info being helpful....yes, to me it is. But I am the guy that often wants the bleeding edge stuff. I research a lot then decide I want a feature yet to come, then wait for it while reading up on it. As an engineer, I make informed decisions for a living so for me "knowledge is power".

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch covers counties of Lapeer; Livingston; Macomb; Oakland; St. Clair
And Wayne until 9pm this evening. These locations are mainly along Highway I-75 and I-94. Strong storms in central Michigan are moving eastward and will continue to produce the threat of wind damage and large hail.

Will,
I am glad for every scrap of information available on the diesel. Thumbs up and my hat is off to everyone for keeping us in the loop.

Milous is providing more detail is all, normally MOTS does not report "Ship to Storage" covered earlier in this thread. I guess it is on the topic of more information. Other than the 2 that are in inspection today, we are all JS (Storage) because we have passed the initial inspections until you get KZ "Release". It wasn't reported because people ask too many questions about "Storage" especially when customer service would still tell you, that you are in inspection.

So why would vots say paint and mots sat d1 still???
MOTS will only report (I) Built Pending Inspection because the window of production is so short and the VOTS reporting is off so much in time, it really only matters that is it "Complete".

Must be for the Canadian market. We don't measure speed in km/h. Also, the CRD produces 100% more torque than the larger 3,6L motor...not 50% more than an equivalent gas motor, as stated.

I have not seen those but very clearly part of the internal training materials. Looks a lot like the tech training I had seen, and shares some of the same screens and notes.

As for the Engine torque, I think that is English semantics. 420 is 100% more power than 210. 210 is only 50% less than 420... They just need to relearn how to spoke gooder. ;)

Looking through the Build Status thread...there are very few original day(s) orders (early August) remaining to be built. Since we are probably a small percentage of the CRDs actually built I am going to have to guess the end is finally near.
I have to agree, and a big part of that (at least for the Premium Members) is rounding out this week... You (CNY) may actually see your VOTS email today, if not probably early tomorrow! :D

Today is the day! This has been a long wait...with the most excitement I have had concerning a new vehicle in a good long while! Now if I don't get stuck in paint.. Thanks to all the Jeep guys and gals...I know this is going to be great! Load the trains!

Called Jeep Customer Service today, they said my estimated ship date is 10/1, "but that could change". Yeah, right. When I asked why mine and all the other CRDs built have just been sitting there, she said she didn't know but that mine had been selected for a "quality control inspection audit'. Just super. The good news is that every day that passes we are getting closer... :)

I wouldn't be surprised if they are holding on to them because a new Uconnect or ECU revision or something is right around the corner. They could literally have a few dozen guys with laptops take a week and go out into the storage yard and update them before they ship.

IMO the more bug free the software is on them the better.

Received email from VOTS this morning. My jeep is in paint. In VOTS is skipped over frame and went straight from Production Scheduled to Paint. MOTS still showing D1 status, but I guess thats normal until it hits I status which I'm assuming should be in the next day or two. I have a delivery date of 10/2. I was starting to think it would be pushed off since I haven't had an update until this morning. Since it is only a week off, I'm assuming it will still be a few days past delivery date.

VOTS updates once daily yet it takes 9 hours to build your Jeep. By the time you see the VOTS update, it may already be in or even past inspection and sitting in "the yard".

Look for the next MOTS to show "I" and possibly a location update. In other words, your Jeep is probably built and all finished.
