Re: 2014 diesel production

Hi, I'm new to this site and the JEEP family. Let's just say I work for another auto manufacturer and have made the jump to the diesel JEEP after a lot of comparison shopping and research. I AM SO EXCITED TO GET MY NEW JEEP! I was blown away by the features, quality, and technology of the gasoline Overland I test drove. We decided diesel so I could get the power and fuel economy I need. Is there anyone that can help me find where my Jeep is? I put in my order in August and VOTS has it in Shipment status. Not getting much info from the dealer, but I'm also impatient Thank you!

If you become a Level 3 supporter of the site, Milous can track your vehicle for you. If you become a level 4 supporter, you will also get a detailed build sheet.

But not that uncommon. My first Mini Cooper suffered similar fate. It got destroyed when the top of the carrier felt on it. Waited another three months for a replacement.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I chatted with my brother in law (who runs the shop at the Audi place). He told me it happens way more then you might think.

..not, generally this bad though (usually a scuffed fender or such).

The guy backing the car off basically has a face full of bruises. He was leaning all the way forward trying to see the ramp in the side mirror when the car slipped.

BAM!

So yeah, don't lean into the airbag... just FYI.

They offered me a Q7 TDI S line while I wait, which, I have to admit, is a hell of a nice rig, but I'm not dropping that kinda cash on a grocery getter.

Oh... and the guy that dropped the Audi, he's still employed. Now... doing what, specifically, I don't know.

At anyrate, I'm taking this as a sign to sit tight and wait this all out. Ironically, my Winter Snow Tires arrive at the Tire shop today... go figure. That said, I'm talking with my dealer about % off I am getting and making sure we're all still good there, at the same time, my CU is re-pulling my credit and re-working my loan (yay ).

Oh, and Chiv, if you need a ride, I know where you can get a slightly used Audi Q5 TDI for pretty cheap now...

I just turned, looked at the dealer, got back in to my Pez Dispensing Hippo, and left.

They estimate 1-1 1/2 weeks to repair, or about the same time for a new one.

I'm not thrilled by this in the slightest and told the dude he was knocking another 2% off the price on the new one, because I'm not buying the one they just dropped off the back of a truck.

So... the game is still on it seems.
Oh my, sorry to say I got a good laugh out of that one. It's amazing how many stone-heads and clueless people are out there. I could only imagine the look on your face.

Did you imply that the dealer was trying to have it repaired and sell it you as a new vehicle? I would have laughed in their face. I wonder what the law says to do at that point. It technically isn't registered yet for vehicle history and a accident report. I bet they will repair it and try and sell it as new.

Pass! Seriously, I agree with what someone said earlier... it's a sign that you should "taste the rainbow" with a skittle farting unicorn.
