To all of you inverted pork rectum afficionados, these are actually regularly served in France, stuffed, and under the name, Andouillette. I have personally had the opportunity to try this (appreciated by some) delicacy. The odour that emanates from this dish leaves absolutely no doubt whatsoever as to its posterior animal based origin, and as such I was unable to get past even an initial taste.

" it is a plump sausage generally about 25 mm in diameter but often it is much larger, possibly 710 cm in diameter, and stronger in scent when the colon is used. True andouillette is rarely seen outside France and has a strong, distinctive odor related to its intestinal origins and components. Although sometimes repellant to the uninitiated, this aspect of andouillette is prized by its devotees." (Wikipedia)

Airbag went off and... the nice Audi lady called on the cars emergency thingy to ask if everyone was ok (nice to know all of those bits work).

I just turned, looked at the dealer, got back in to my Pez Dispensing Hippo, and left.

They estimate 1-1 1/2 weeks to repair, or about the same time for a new one.

I'm not thrilled by this in the slightest and told the dude he was knocking another 2% off the price on the new one, because I'm not buying the one they just dropped off the back of a truck.

So... the game is still on it seems.
If this isn't Karma I don't know what it. It is not my place to tell anyone what to do, we each have their own situations. However, are you really not going to get the JGC/SFU? After so long of a wait, almost giving up, and have the alternative thwarted at the last minute, you are being told something.

Unless it causes frame damage or totals the vehicle.. it's goes out as "new" it sounds like.

...all the more reason to check the $#@!ing paint and gaps on your car when you buy one new I guess.

Short of the SFU falling off the truck/train (dear god, please no), pretty sure it's a done deal, I'm getting my Jeep.

Well... so long as it arrives before I have to re-redo my loan paperwork...

For real? Yikes. Was this University or Barrier? I have an UGLY story about University's service that made me swear off Audi forever just out of spite.

I think it was meant to be. I know I looked long and hard at the Q5 TDI...couldn't do it. I would have had to step up to the Q7 to match the Jeep's capability and the $ difference just didn't make sense to me.

The Q7 TDI SLine is a thing of beauty (I seriously hope the Grand Waggy is akin to this thing), but yeah... I'd need to sell my kids into indentured servitude to pay for one of them (or, I guess use their college funds).

If this is the case, I hate to admit, I have also actually eaten the stuff. We were in Paris and I thought I was ordering a Crepe with Andouille sausage. Instead, it came out with this stuff in it. Yes, it pretty much smelled and tasted like a pigs behind, at least what I would imagine that tasted like. Couldn't even finish eating it.
