I have been a Jeep Garage forum member since the beginning of this year. Haven't seen such kind of request before. Most of the requests are after a purchase and you become a level three or four member. Doesn't your dealer know where the prospective unicorn is?

Re: 2014 diesel production

I've taken to thinking of my Jeep as a care free hobo. Its out there riding around the country on trains. A place it apparently would rather be than in my warm cozy garage. While I appreciate its carefree spirit and sense of adventure, I kind of wish it would grow up, show some responsibility, and get home here to do some work. I should have known speciing ORAII would turn it into a vagabond.

Vorp was looking to order, but is trying to find something close to what he wants locally (to avoid the 6-8 week delay).

Vorp, I think your best shot is to ping the dealer (they can use DealerConnect to get a pretty specific location). I don't know if Will/Milous can tell you where that rig is in the pipe.

If the Bremerton guy doesn't respond, let me know, I know a couple other folks over there. I do know it was his day off yesterday though.

Temerarius, just wondering have you received your CRD yet. I did do just what you recommend above because someone else on the site said drive a Touareg TDI to get an idea of what it's like. It was awesome and I had no idea it was a diesel cause it was so smooth and powerful and quiet. I have had the opportunity to drive the not released Ram 1500 diesel and it was pretty nice just had that lag when you take off but it could have been me because I was being careful because it was just a pre production.

I'd just like to see what others who have received their CRD's really think about them power and smoothness wise. I've driven all of the other GC's with there different engines so I just need to drive a CRD for myself to make that final decision. I've seen all of the youtube vids and all of that but it's nothing like actually sitting your but in one and driving it yourself. Good look with yours if you've received it already. I can't keep up with who has and who hasn't. Just want to know real driving impressions of the CRD.

Sadly, no. Mine is still frolicking in the Unicorn fields.

JP and Willx have theirs though, so they could give some driving impressions.

5 days of KZ and it seems like my train still hasn't come in. I wonder if tonight will be the night...

Re: 2014 diesel production

My two diesels took a while to come into their own as far as MPG goes. With these new engines you can really boost your MPG if you learn to take your foot off the pedal when going down hill or at a speed you like. You will lose some speed but are operating at an infinite MPG. I can increase my MPG by 6 or 7 MPG over a 50 mile trip that is mostly interstate and back country two lane road with some real stop and go for a few miles if I take my time and coast as much as I can down hill. Not neutral but foot off the pedal.

I track every tank and over a full tank I have been able to increase MPG by 4 MPG over those tanks where I need to get there in a hurry. Both vehicles seemed to improve as they got quite a few miles on them.
